Cough Cough Splutter

Hi Guys
I'm still feeling pretty crocked so I went to the doctors again this afternoon and he's finally given me some antibiotics boo- I don't think I've had these before and to be honest I'm dreading taking them. Yes they'll hopefully clear my cough and my chest infection, but the instructions are awful 4 tablets a day for the next week but I can't have any milk products either 2 hours before or until 2 hours after taking them - I'm not going to be able to have a cup of tea, yogurt, cereal, cheese or chocolate for over a week - there aren't enough hours in the day - I guess it will be good for my diet ;)
Anyways I'm feeling a little better now so I have a few posts ready to go up this week including surprise, surprise a nails of the day post, a shampoo and conditioner review, and maybe a little haul.
Thanks again to everyone who purchased from my blog sale - your goodies should be on their way to you shortly - there are still a few items so please check it out here
I hope you had a nice weekend I didn't but it can only get better ;) see you soon xx

Another Week Begins

Hello my loves I hope you all had a lovely weekend mine was quiet but fairly productive. Today's been a bit of a mixed bag if I'm honest. I had a doctors appointment this afternoon which I wasn't looking forward to - I get so fed up of medical appointments all the time, but thankfully this one wasn't so bad, my meds are staying the way they are for another few months at least, and I've lost another 2lbs :) Today also saw the online release of two new MAC collections, as you know MAC hasn't exactly rocked my world lately but these two collections Fashion Flower and Semi Precious definitely appealed. I was a bit indecisive over what to buy but I settled on 3 things, which alas take me over my July limit already whoops a daisy. Never mind I'll show you some pics of what I got when the parcels come through x As well as my MAC haul I also have a few other posts planned for this week including at least one NOTD, a foundation review, and the the first post in my Budget Beauty series focusing on Aldi Lacura, Till then I'm keeping my fingers crosses that the weather stays fine and I'm enjoying an I've lost weight treat Scottish Raspberries with Cornish Ice Cream - Nom Nom :)

Goods and Bads

Hey my loves welcome to this weeks goods and bads x - just one bad today x

Bads
  • Put another pound on this week :( I have started some new medication so my doctor says that may be making me eat more I am a bit disappointed but at the same time my doctor told me not to be disheartened it will be hard for me to lose weight because of medication and lack of activity but I can do it
Goods
  • Less than a week to my birthday :) - have a few little events planned including a meal with my bestie and a shopping trip with Mummy Lou which I am excited about  :)
  • It was my godfathers birthday yesterday so I had a nice day with some of my family :)

Fabs and Fail

A new title for this weeks goods and bads but the same meaning :) sorry it's a day late I wasn't in a good place yesterday :(

Bads
  • One large bad today -an upturn in my families health seems to have affected everyone but me and my mum- everyone is stable and comfortable but to be honest I've felt as though I've been falling apart. A pretty miserable couple of weeks culminated in a trip to the doctors today where they have upped some of my meds to hopefully help me return to somewhere a bit less painful and a bit more cheerful - I have to go back in a month to see how I''m doing. Inbetween that though I have a trip to the hospital to see up the knackered ankle I had to mention it to the doctor today too because the skin is sooooo tender and sore at the minute and now Mummy Lou has some nasty flu / sickness bug thing and is staying in bed :(
Goods
  • I lost another pound last week - I was so surprised because I hadn't really been trying - I am back on track today tho so hopefully I can have another loss this week :)
  • You ladies for purchasing from my blog sale I really appreciate it - I have some more stuff to add at the weekend too x
  • I recently won the lovely Jo's giveaway, a whole load of lovely Simply Wax products - with that and the Acorelle sugar/ wax I have I am going to be sorted for summer x
  • You guys again I am now at 412 followers -  huge, huge thanks x

Yes I'm Still Here

Hey my loves I'm sorry I've been a bit quiet this week it's been a bit of a funny one. First of all there was last Sundays meltdown I haven't been feeling too good and a lots of things have been going on at home. One of my relatives is currently quite ill and to be honest my mum has been quite upset about it, added to that she is having a few health issues herself and not only that but she fell flat on her backside on the ice and has a bruise the size of a small county on her bum and back :( Then there was moi - for the last week I have had horrid headaches and pains and swelling in my face, and a hideous skin irritation near my eyes - all this culminated in a doctors appointment this week where thankfully it just seems to be a bad case of neuralgia, and a couple of under the skin spots. I've been dosing up on ibuprofen pretty much every day for the last week, and thankfully it seems to be easing off, my skin is another matter sorry to be gross but it's two spots really close to me eye I think the worst is over but it's still pretty painful and every time I've yawned or cried I've been in agony :(

Anyway enough of the negativity I'm trying to be a bit positive first up the snow has nearly gone. yes I know it's due back at the end of the week but I'm looking out of my window now and I can see green :) I eventually managed to get to the Metro Centre on Friday wahoo we were there just before the shops opened which was great, I managed to get around and get quite a bit done, thankfully I'm nearly finished my shopping hurrah just waiting for a huge batch of parcels to come :( They have started coming through but omg how slow :( I'm still waiting for another 2 bits to come for my giveaway so it's certainly going to be a New Year one now - I am hoping to launch it this week and draw it just before Christmas to apologise for the delay - there will now be two prize packs to giveaway of pretty much equal value so keep checking back probably about Tuesday or Wednesday :)

Anyways I have to say my spending ban has gone belly up already which isn't surprising no make up though I have been good although I have to say my mum did buy Shout magazine for me -"I saw it had that Barry M thing you like on it!" (her exact words lol) and got the free Barry M bits with it a real bargain actually apart from the fact the shimmer pencil fell to pieces hmm - never mind make up is make up and the nail polish is lovely.

OK so I haven't bought any make up for me but I have ordered a few brushes from ELF and Sigma which unsurprisingly haven't came yet and I did buy a few bits at the Metro Centre including some more festive Lush goodies I'm loving Satsumo Santa at the moment and I picked up my free Lush Colour Supplement - check out Top Sante for your voucher it's worth £7.50 oh and I'm not counting that for Project 10 Pan either as it was technically free :) I also got a few bits in Primark including lots of 120 denier tights, a hair clip with daisies on it , and a cute necklace that is like a little bronze handbag with a magnetic clasp it's so sweet and you can easily fit a pound coin in it :) I also got some of the Andrea Fullerton Cute-Icle Eraser Gel to try I'm loving the Leighton Denny product I'm using at the moment but I think I need something a bit stronger so I got this from Superdrug - it's the first time I've seen the range irl and I was really impressed I have begged Momma LouLou for some of the striper and glitter things for Christmas teehee. Oh and I also got this purse from Accessorize I've wanted it for a while and it's always been out of stock - it's so sweet and you can get them in a variety of cities

So that was it bad LouLou that I am :) Never mind it's nearly Christmas ho ho ho and that, so looking forward for this week, as well as finishing my Christmas cards and wrapping my pressies I am going to try and get a few posts up , including one inspired by the lovely Kelanjo who did a post on her Christmas Tree, I loved the post so much I am really inspired to do something similar maybe show you some of our tree decorations and tell you about the history or thoughts behind them :); I'm also going to try and do a review post and obviously try and get my giveaway up whenever the last parcel comes hmm I'll aim for Tuesday but it could be Wednesday evening after my CBT appointment, oh and I am also going to be getting some more of these - I know a few people were really excited about these when I mentioned them on twitter and they are amazing Galaxy hot chocolate, Galaxy melted into milk and cream yum yum

Oh and thanks to everyone who made a purchase from my blog sale your items are on their way to you as of yesterday morning - there are still a few items left including some Illamasqua, Bobbi Brown, Philosophy and Nails Inc so don't forget to have a look and  I will by adding some more things after Christmas; There are a few bits marked as pending at the moment but if I don't received payment this week they will be back up for sale so I'll let you know .
Apologies this has been a bit of a ramble but I thought you deserved an update - Any questions or if you would like any pics (my camera battery is dead) or reviews of anything I've mentioned please let me know xx

Goods and Bads

I'm sorry that I haven't managed to do one of these since before my holidays but hopefully this one will be one big catch up x

Goods
  • I had a fabulous holiday - the food and the weather were amazing I really and properly relaxed for the first time in ages
  • I bought some gorgeous things, that I am loving using especially my bits from VV's, Lithe pigment, and my Estee Lauder Stay In Place Cream Shadow
  • Currently waiting for a few parcels some things for me and some Christmas shopping I've started early this year and I feel great about things already
  • I have new make up storage :) - I went to Ikea last week with my mum and we got some new drawer units to house all my make up and nail polishes - we also made a few changes in my room too - It's ongoing but I can't wait to show you when I'm finished - if you'd like to see that is ;)
Bads
  • If you follow me on twitter you'll know that my auntie was taken to hospital seriously ill whilst we were away -she has an aneurysm on her aorta :( It was touch and go for a few days but she is stable again and has been allowed home to rest before having serious heart surgery towards the end of this week or the beginning of next week :(
  • I don't really feel as though I have any right to complain when I look at her situation but I really haven't been well over the last two weeks - maybe my holidays have caught up with me, or maybe I've been doing to much work on my room but I feel awful and have pains everywhere. My mum thinks I should go back to the doctors but I have to say I'm not keen, apart from the fact all they can do it give me more painkillers, my doctor has left the practise :( , and one of the others is on maternity leave so I would more than likely get a locum and have to explain my illness history from day one :( If I still feel this bad next week I will have to go
  • Money - need I say more I have a little bit of savings for Christmas but I really need to get listing on ebay again
Sorry that was a bit if a misery post I will try to be more positive next time - oh and another good more new followers - huge thanks my lovely people I really appreciate it, and all your lovely comments even if I don't always respond xxx

FOTD, New Hair and a Ramble :)

Hiyas I've had a busy 24 hours or so (well for me anyways;) yesterday was the dentists and this morning was my doctors appointment. I had a little chat with my doctor and we have decided to keep my medication at the new levels. It's definitely reducing the pain which has to be a plus point, but I am feeling tired and a bit more zonked out that usual - it's a vicious circle really but I think I'd rather be spaced out than in pain. It was a really productive appointment we talked about new CFS research and he assured me that my shakes and tremors are normal - these have been getting worse over the last few weeks so much so that my arms were physically jerking the other night - still if it's normal in CFS / ME at least I don't have to worry that it has a more sinister cause.
Anyways after the doctors I had a few hours rest and I managed to finish my Zuneta post for tomorrow (I'll post a link for you to comment on tomorrow ;)- then it was back out the door again to the hairdressers - I managed to put on a little bit of slap before I went out so I thought I'd show you as part of some before and after hair pics :)

Goodbye January and Good Riddance

It's not the at often that I am so pleased to see the back of a month but I am so pleased that January is over! On a lot of levels it's been tough month, and particularly the last week. I seem to have lived in hospitals and doctors this month - I have been diagnosed with another health problem which to be honest came as no surprise so I am on yet another lot of medication this time for the rest of my life -lovely! - still every cloud as they say it now means that I qualify for free prescriptions so I am due a nice little refund from my last couple:)My mums health has also been a bit up and down this month culminating in a visit to the hospital about a fortnight ago - as predicted she needs an operation on her left hip - her provisional surgery date is the 6th March - at least we have plenty of time to prepare. Oh and when I returned from my hospital appointment on Wednesday the heating was off - kaput!! - brilliant just as the weather has turned cold again (we started the month with snow and its ended with snow !!) so we sat and shivered until the repair man came on Thursday night - thankfully he managed to fix it in about 20 minutes!

Monthly Total - £40.95
Front Cover Inky Eyes Kit - £8.00
MAC P&P - £2.95
MAC TLC Feelin' Good - £10.50
MAC MSF By Candlelight - £19.50

So that's been my month up and down and pretty stressful I hope this explains why I have been a bit MIA especially over the last week - so how have I done in my monthly aims, well with monthly spends I have gone an ickle bit over this month but not by much and I am sure I will be able to make it up next month - OK I am probably saying that with my fingers crossed as I have already made a couple of purchases which I am waiting for to count towards next months totals thanks to a few enablers on twitter (you know who you are ;))but my big plus for next month is that I am not buying my goodies from MAC in Lilyland :) I got some M&S vouchers for Christmas and despite trailing the website there appears to be nothing I could possibly want bar their lemon macaroons, lemon, and white chocolate mousse and swiss mountain bars - so me and my mum are doing a swap I give her my M&S vouchers and she buys my MAC In Lilyland bits - fair I think you'll agree :)and at least it will save me some money and I won't get fatter in the process :)

So in monthly spends good but must do better but in trimming my stash I think I have done pretty well this month

Illness Update - Oink

Photobucket

Well the picture says it all really doesn't it. As you know I have been feeling really unwell for the past few days with a sore throat, chest pains, and a high temperature. My mum was getting a bit concerned so I rang my GP yesterday who confirmed I had suspected swine flu :( Cue loads of hassle and my mum and various relatives trekking round the region to get my Tamiflu. I am bit argh at the moment but I am heartend by the fact that the majority cases are mild - so I am getting plenty of rest, knocking back lots of fluids and paracetamols. I am sure I will be fine though if in doubt though ring your GP I waited a little bit too long to do it - better be safe than sorry
Just some information for UK bloggers - Swine Flu Information take care peeps - I'll try and get back later with a clothes haul post xx

I Wouldn't Say I'm Clumsy But...

Photobucket

I have had a pretty destructive few days I wouldn't say I was overtly rough or careless with my products but I seem to be breaking a lot of things at the moment - is it me or is the packaging of a lot of cosmetic products just not that great anymore. In the last few days I have snapped the lids off a Prestige bronzer compact, a Models Prefer concealer pot , and a Laura Geller Balance and Brighten compact! I have also broke a Creme De La Mer The Lotion Pump and a Smashbox Primer Pump. Thankfully I can still use all the products one way or another but it is just me who this happens too or is this a common problem with packaging these days

Eek maybe whatever virus I have got has given me super strength lol - hmm it seems to have sapped it from everywhere else though - I'm feeling a little better than yesterday but still not great I am going to leave it till Monday now and ring my own GP then if I am still not feeling great :(

Oh and another thing huge thanks to my new followers I really appreciate it - I will be holding a little contest when I get to 50 followers so keep checking back, huge thanks again xx

A Review of The Day

Fooled yah - no not a beauty product review but I couldn't think of a catchy title for this post about my day so this is what you've got (evil giggle) LOL
As you know I had a doctors appointment at an unearthly hour this morning - I am pleased to say it went OK, my blood pressure and ears are fine, and he is leaving my medication at its current levels - wahoo!!! We talked about a few things and I have been left with something to mull over and look into - I am not going to say what it is at this stage because I may decide to take it no further but I have some serious thinking to do on something that could be life changing (or not!- maybe that is one of the biggest things I need to consider whether it would change my life- hmmm).
Anyways maybe more of that to come - I popped into Tesco as planned only to discover the absence of any magazine I wanted - no August issues yet boo :(. Not only that but despite the temperature being really high in Northern England today, the sun wasn't shining and the sky was actually quite dull. Obviously my planned afternoon of sitting in the garden reading a glossy mag just didn't happen today, I may have got some kind of tan even with the sky being dull but it just wasn't appealing anymore, so I spent the afternoon watching Christmas crafting on QVC can you believe it Christmas already!!! argh! I was going to watch some tennis but women's tennis doesn't have the same appeal to me - the Williams sisters dominance and all that grunting to be honest really puts me off :( so QVC it was.
One good thing did happen today though (apart from some yummy strawberries and cream - £1.99 for a punnet of strawberries in Tesco and you get a free carton of single cream :) ) my Avon came, and because I didn't get a magazine my mum paid for it :) I got two tubes of the Skin So Soft Targeted Firming Treatment for £5 (BOGOF :))
Photobucket
I am really persevering with this one these will be my 4th & 5th tubes. I can't see whether its making a real difference yet but it makes your skin so soft whether its down to the product or the built in knobbly rubber applicator which you use to massage the cream in I don't know but there always seems to be some sort of offer on this line so its well worth trying :)
Photobucket
My shopping trip on Thursday is still on up to now and I can't wait - the thought of Superdrug is making me particularly excited at this moment in time -GOSH, Barry M, Sleek - Bring it on!!!!

Product Of The Day - Stila

I was in a bit of a rush this morning due to my early doctors appointment, so my make up was done in double quick time using a lot of multi use products. On my eyes I used a Stila Shadow Pot Eyeshadow Mousse in Honey. I bought this a few months ago and apart from a quick test it has remained unloved since, so seeing as it was something I could just slap on my eyes I gave it a go and I was really impressed with the pretty finish but I didn't find it that long lasting - never mind it is ridiculously hot today and that may be why, so here are some pics - sorry its just a swatch but alas there is none left on my eyes :(

The pretty packaging

The product in the pot probably the most realistic shot colour wise

A Good Start To The Week

Big news is I have managed to lose another 2lbs this week. I am really chuffed and so, so surprised. I have had a pretty lousy 7 days with some yucky ME symptoms and lousy PMT - I have felt like a zombie who has wanted to eat for England - yuck, yuck, yuck. Still this is a major boost for me and it makes me want to carry on with it :) Another couple of mini pluses this week are that I am going to the doctors tomorrow - OK you may say that isn't really a plus, true not something I am overly looking forward too even if it is just for a medication check, but I am going to pick up some shopping for my mum whilst I am out and she is going to treat me to a magazine - I don't know what August issues will be out tomorrow but I am looking forward to a small pleasure - hopefully it will be sunny tomorrow so I can sit in the garden with a nice fashion mag :)The second possibly fab event this week may be a shopping trip with financial backing from my mummy. I am getting a little bored and fed up with being couped up in the house (I normally rely on my mum for transport - buses can often be too much with my ME :( ) so she has said she will give me some money to have a little shopping trip if I can manage it, to make up for the one I didn't manage in Durham a few weeks ago. So fingers crossed if I feel well enough I am gong to the Metro Centre on Thursday - the bus journey is shorter than going to Newcastle, and there are a lot more seats for me to utilise when I need a sit down so fingers crossed I manage to go, after all it will be July then, which means a new MAC collection and £30 of my own spending money too. Potentially happy hauling coming up xxx

A Quickie

Just a quickie from me today - I went to the doctors and got some antibiotics for my ear infection - yuck, yuck - I am also been referred to the ENT team due to the frequency of my infections lately so that is something to look forward too at the the beginning of June - not! Nevermind it wasn't all bad I mangaged a little, well rather large shopping trip and some goodies came today too - I'll try and update you tomorrow :)

7 Days of Happiness? Hmmm

Apologies that I am so late with this, this week, but I haven't been feeling too good. Caring for my mum, and catering for my birthday party has certainly taken its toll on my ME ridden carcass. I managed to miss the match on Saturday and to be honest I just about survived these past few days - ME related pains have riddled my arms, shoulders and back leaving me relying far too much on Mr Painkiller :( Added to that the recurrence of my earache and a trip to the doctors tomorrow - this week and being 31 in general hasn't started too well. Still lots of things last week made me happy and I need to keep up my happy thoughts

Photobucket

1)My Birthday -OK being a year older isn't a lot to be cheerful about normally, but I got some lovely pressies most of which you have already seen, and I got some lovely wishes from people on chat forums, facebook and so on their are some nice people out there :)Pictured here is one of my pressies from my bestie -OK maybe not the most obvious pressie for a 31 year old but I love my bright, shiny balloon - reverting back to childhood is good :)

2)My Birthday Carrot Cake - Since my mum is still a bit incapacitated it was left to me to make my birthday cake - I used her gluten free carrot cake recipe with cream cheese frosting and I have to say it was a total success and tres yummy! The pic really doesn't do it justice
Photobucket

3) Minstrels - yummy, yummy, yummy haven't had these for ages but I have just rediscovered them - Oh wow chocolate heaven - why haven't I shown these more love!

4)My Smashbox Stuff - Loving those nude lip liners especially - great colours and a good texture

5) Once again you - thanks again to you for following me on here and on twitter - it's very much appreciated and a big hello to my new followers x

The Reason Why I Shop?

I must admit I have had a crappy couple of weeks. A twinge in my ear culminated in an ear infection and a blocked ear canal. Cue a few days of feeling very dizzy, nauseaous and disorientated. I eventually managed to get to the doctors where I was given a fortnights supply of antibiotics. they have only really started kicking in in the past day or so, so I have had over a week of being totally housebound and feeling ghastly, What do you do in this situation, unfortunately for me I shop online. I always seem to want to buy something to cheer me up, using it as an emotional crutch to perk me up and keep me sane. This time I turned to ebay buying a whole load of all be it bargain silver jewellery, and some discontinued Body Shop bits. It made me feel better for a bit then the guilt kicked in when I checked my paypal account. I really don't know why I do it - my old counsellor used to say I was filling a gap in my life which at the time made sense, but now who knows , maybe its just a habit I've got myself into - who knows. All I know is I have to try and get back into the money saving and spending ban habit - well after Thursday at least - I have an exclusive online invitation to the launch of MAC Hello Kitty - Oh well I can always start again on Friday ;)

Whoops A Daisy

Why is it that I always make my doctors appointments for possibly the coldest of wettest days ever.
Thankfully I got a lift along to the doctors yesterday which was just as well due to the sheer amount of snow and ice - nevertheless it was decided that I would walk home after my appointment. I knew that this was a bad idea almost as soon as I left the surgery to collect my prescriptions and get a few magazines. The path was like an ice rink - the only way people were walking about was to walk alongside the walls where the majority of snow and ice had melted!!!
I managed to get my bits with only a bit of sliding around but when I was 3/4 of the way home over I went - slap bang onto the ground!!! I hurriedly got up and skidded / hobbled away whilst trying not to die of embarrassment because of course there were loads of people around.
Not only was my pride damaged but I have a huge bruise on my knee and I feel like I have been kicked everywhere (well even more so than usual!).
Note to self don't go out in the ice Note to Durham and Derwentside Councils -SALT YOUR PAVEMENTS!!!!!!

A Major Catch Up!

I am a bad girl for forgetting to update this but things have been a bit crappy!

I have had the earache from hell for a fortnight and was in absolutely agony - so much so I was on the verge of shoving my head through a plate glass window!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thankfully I got some antibiotics and it is starting to feel normal again!

The suspected upturn in Newcastle Uniteds fortunes under KK hasn't happened yet ! No major tranfer window signings, and we are still yet to win a game - oh well another season of pointlessness and disappointment!

Things have lifted slightly in the last few days though - I managed to go shopping for the first time since Christmas and had a fab Primark spree which really lifted my spirits! and the annual diet starts today - I can't believe I have put so much weight on in just a few months!

Oh another thing Happy Belated Birthday to my friend Susan and thanks to Dawn for the Hello Kitty Fridge Magnets :)

Ears, Photos, Nasty Letters and Hummus !!!!

I don't think I ever have a week which doesn't involve some sort of drama.

All my plans for last week pretty much disappeared. I felt yucky pretty much all week... By Saturday I felt bleurghhhhhhh forcing me to cancel my opticians appointment and to cancel my trip to the Newcastle / Wigan game (Sorry Again Dawn!) Typical the game in the game I miss Newcastle win their first home game since February! (Which reminds me good luck at West Ham Nobby we will miss you x)

Anyways I had a doctors appointment for today anyways and it only turns out I have an ear infection!!!!!!! Cue the nice pic of me with cotton wool and ear drops in which I have decided to treat you all too - fan bleedin tastic!!

It always seems to be the way when your feeling yucky things go wrong and you end up having to rush round and do things you never expected too and this week has been no different. My new passport photos were rejected because I was wearing glasses!!!! so I had to shell out £3.50 to get another set done - fingers crossed my new set are OK - I am rapidly running out of time!!!! Then today I got a rubbishy letter from the bank cue more running around and stress! Least said about this the better really but its all sorted now!!!

On a positive note I got some super dooper Yankee candles this week, in Jasmine, Baby Powder, Sheer Gardenia, and Pineapple Citrus - I love my smelly candles! Also made some lovely hummus today too which is yummy so very pleased about that! I also found out that my mate Helen (of Prospero the bear fame) is definitely coming up this month so that is something to look forward too!

Plans for the rest of the week plenty of rest, card making and making my mums birthday meal on Friday :) - I am also taking the kitties for their injections, planning on doing some ebay listing, some blogging and maybe a bit of light yoga, hmmm - I think though I will take each day as it comes my life never seems to go as planned
