Two Nails Of The Days All Thanks To A Lovely Lady

When I got back from holiday I had the arduous task of checking my email, as well as the usual spam, and shopping tempters, I was delighted to receive an email from the lovely Jen Mizzworthy I was lucky enough to win the exclusive Nails Inc polish duo from Fabulous magazine.

The duo contains a fab hot, hot orange called Atomic and a fab hot pink called OMP! hmm not sure what that one stands for lol. Anyways I've had the set for about a week or so now, so I thought I'd do some NOTD's for you.

Atomic is exactly that a super bright orange, it has much less of the red tones of Leighton Perfect To Party and Mavala Elle Orange, this is a much truer orange

I'm still not convinced it's showing up properly in fact it's not - oranges are so hard to capture on my camera but it is such a great colour especially since I still have a bit of a tan left :)
Next up OMP! This is a funny one, not just the strange name but the colour too, in the photograph above and in certain lights it looks pink in the bottle, but on the nails its competely different

See what I mean, on the nails it's a very corally red with only the merest hint of pink

It's still a very pretty colour though but Atomic really is the stand out for me, what do you think

Thank Crunchie It's Friday -An Update and A Haul

I wish I'd never used this post title now I am craving chocolate like you wouldn't believe, but never mind. all in all I'm pretty glad this week is nearly over. It started with a bit of a disaster, a leaky shower, and an inept plumber lead to water dripping through the dinning room ceiling. Thankfully no real damage was done but we were without water for nearly 2 days!!! Then came a dentist appointment and then a medical appointment, more medication and a pile of blood tests, and more investigation needed - fabulous! when will it end! `
Anyway today started pretty iffily we were going to go to the Metro Centre but I felt so lousy we decided to go next week instead. Thankfully I felt a little bit better this afternoon so we decided to pop to a nearby town, to get the rest of my godmothers birthday pressie. The make up was on 3 for 2 in Superdrug so my mum got my godmother something, and she got me the other 2 items. If your in Superdrug definitely check out the GOSH counter, they had a whole basket of items which were half price. I've shown the colour green a lot of love in my recent nail polish posts so I couldn't pass this colour by - it's 567 Metallic Green

I also got this nail polish I saw it when I was in my local chemist the other day and I thought it looked fab

It's the Rimmel Lasting Finish in 500 Disco Ball - it's basically sheer with lots of multi coloured glitter  - If you like colours like this stay tuned to my bit of web space, I'm planning a changing your nail polish post using lots of shades like this one :) I've done some swatches on white paper so you can have a better look :)

So that was all I got apart from some ebay packaging, but I did get a little something in the post

One of the lovely Sinead's new wooden scrabble tile necklaces, I think these are an absolute bargain and I am definitely going to pick up a few as Christmas pressies - Here is a rather demented looking picture of me wearing it  :)

Sweet isn't it - I have quite a busy weekend ahead of me, I am going to my Godmother's birthday party tomorrow, so I will try and get some pictures up maybe an OOTN?, and then it's free listings weekend on ebay so you can expect to see lots more ebay listings over the next day or so, Oh and I have a review to go up tomorrow too - phew Any questions on anything please leave me a comment I love reading them oh and Hevanne please get in touch to claim your giveaway prize x thanks all xx

Nails Of The Day - Say Yeah To Yara

I've recently had a huge love in with sludgy khaki green nails, and whilst this colour has the same olive/khaki green base, it offers so much more

From their Autumn / Winter collection Zoya - Yara is a gorgeous olivey, green with lots of gold shimmer and sparkle.

What do you think? for me it's a definite thumbs up :)

Sorry I'm Washing My Hair ;)

If you've been reading my little space on the interweb you'll know that I am a bit of a shampoo whore. I have a few that I fall back on but when a new shampoo appears I want to try it!
Up until recently Clynol wasn't a brand I was that familiar with, I'd tried a few things but it was a brand that had pretty much fell under my radar. Over the last couple of years though I've  become a lot more familiar with this top salon brand. I've tried products from the Revive and Repair range, and more recently from the Colour and Shine line, and I have to say I've been pretty impressed with the products, in fact the Colour and Shine products went straight into my top 5 shampoos and conditioners of all time !!!
Brands though are forever innovating and reformulating their products though so these products are no more, instead Clynol have introduced their new all encompassing Care and Style range.
Divided into several section the Care and Style range contains care products, including shampoos, conditioners and treatments to deal with different hair types, and Style products, a range of styling products to help you create the style you want. I was very kindly sent two products from the Colour + Care line. Although I've moved away from the blonde, I still colour my hair so this range is right up my street

Clynol Salon Exclusive Colour & Care Enrich Colour Shampoo

The Colour & Care range comprises of 5 products containing Liquid Jewel extract to nourish and protect your hair, whilst helping to preserve your colour for up to 30 washes.

I was kindly sent a bottle of the enrich shampoo. Packaged in a pearlised effect bottle you get 300ml, which is a really good size for a salon product. The shampoo itself is quite runny, and has a white pealised finish, and a fresh smell.

It took a little to get a good lather, but it rinsed easily and afterwards my hair felt super clean. I didn't notice any extra shine which was a bit of a disappointment and my hair was left a little bit fly away but since my hair is still recovering from my holidays, and lots of extra heat and sun damage I don't think it did too badly, do I like as much and Dazzle and Shine, not quite but it's still a nice shampoo that would definitely have a place in my top 10 :)

Clynol Salon Exclusive Colour & Care Shimmer Bio-Phase Conditioner

I have to say I love spray on / leave in conditioners. probably more than conventional hair conditioners. My hair has a major tendency to tangle and know especially when it's wet. A good leave in conditioner can make a huge difference when it comes to combing my wet hair.

Alongside the shampoo I was also sent a completely new product for Clynol, the Bio-Phase Conditioner. Packaged in a 250ml pump action spray bottle, this product has a very liquidy almost watery texture, and it has a sweet almost vanilla musk fragrance.

I sprayed the product into towel dried hair and then I styled it like I normally would. I have to say the Clynol shampoo left my hair remarkably smooth and not that tangled, but a few squirts of the conditioner definitely made a bit smoother. From the name I was expecting it to have some sort of shimmer in it, but I couldn't see anything on my hair even when it was dry, nor did I notice any additional shine :(. I think this is a pretty decent leave in spray, but I think I maybe need something with a little bit more moisture.

If the Colour & Care line isn't for you there are plenty more products in the Care and Style range that maybe better for you including products for fine, thinning hair, dry damaged hair and much more.
These products are available to buy from Beauty Bay, and Feel Unique, or for your local stockists / Clynol salon please check out the Clynol website. The Clynol Salon Exclusive Colour & Care Enrich Colour Shampoo retails at around £8.90 for 300ml and the Clynol Salon Exclusive Colour & Care Shimmer Bio-Phase Conditioner retails at around £9.90 for 250ml. If you have any questions please ask x

Living Nature Blush - A Review For My Pure

If your a regular reader of my reviews for My Pure, you'll know that over the last few months I've shown the Living Nature make up range a lot of love. I've had good experiences with both the eyeshadow duo and the lipstick from the line so I thought I'd try something else, so I went for a blush.

The Living Nature Blush comes boxed and in the same black card style packaging as the eyeshadows

In the compact you get 4g of product and a little blush brush, the brush isn't bad by normal standards but to be honest I would and have been using a proper blusher brush to apply it.

The blush comes in two colours Cool Winter and Warm Summer, seeing as I still have a bit of tan I went for Warm Summer.

This blush is simply beautiful, a perfect warm nude shade, it's soft and pigmented, and it's such a natural flush to the cheeks, oh and it's free from parabens and lots of other chemicals

I've found this so hard to capture on my face because quite frankly it gives such a natural finish

I always feel a little bit iffy when I am singing the praises of a product I've been sent but as per usual I only telling the truth and I have to say I love this blush so much, the colour just works for me at the moment. Are there any negatives well at £14.99 it's not particularly cheap but in my opinion its well worth it. Living Nature Blush In Warm Summer retails at £14.99 from My Pure x

Nails Of The Day - Go On Then A Bit More Sludge

I said in my last nails of the day post that I was in a bit of autumnal mode, and I'm certainly feeling the post holiday blues now as the tan is starting to fade, and there's water coming through the dining room ceiling - booo, so I thought I'd continue with another murky nail colour for you. Keeping in the khaki type theme Dry Martini by MAC is a sort of  dark, dirty olive green / brown, it's not the most attractive of colours I must admit in fact Mummy Lou kindly described this as a poo colour

Yes I'm sure this one is going to divide opinion why do you think chic or crappy ;)?

A Very Tiny Little Superdrug Haul

First up an apology for the lack of posts I am still feeling a bit yuck but don't worry I'm getting there and I'm planning lots of posts for next week and onwards x Yesterday though I managed to drag my aching body to my nearest local town with a Superdrug - the object of the exercise was to pick up a bottle of Revlon's Facets of Fuchsia nail polish a simple task, yes? Well no, they had a delivery on Wednesday they put them on the shelves and they were gone by 3pm, so yesterday they had none left boooo I must own this nail polish, never mind I'll try again next week. I did pick up a few nail polishes though including this Barry M Nail Paint in NP 319

It's a new introduction and it's a silver foil I can't wait to give this ago, I also got two of the new 2True Limited Edition Crystal Nail Polishes
Shade 3 is a gorgeous sparkly peacock turquoise colour and Shade 4 is a gorgeous spaerkly purple /pink :)

I also picked up this Rimmel Glam Eyes HD Quad Eye Shadow in 004 Green Park

I love the Union Jack design of the compact and I love the olive green shades

I think these are a bit steep at £6.99 but I liked the packaging  I've made a little haul video which you might be interested in - it's also a bit of a You Tube update which you may find interesting

Any questions or comments, or if you'd like any reviews please let me know xx

Another Nails Of The Day Post - More Sludge ?

Since I've returned from my holidays I've tried to keep in the holiday spirit with a few bright nails of the day posts but I'm going to have to face facts, it is officially Autumn now. The leaves are falling from the trees, the nights are drawing in, and it's getting colder, it was frosty this morning brrrr. So I guess I should back off the bright colours and try and move with the seasons; nah I don't think so, sometimes a bright nail can really perk you up in the colder and winter months so no I'm certainly not relegating my brights to the back of the drawer but I felt like a return to murky colours today.

Not dissimilar to Essie - Sew Psyched , this is MUA Shade No 23 - One of the newer additions to the MUA basic line this is a lovely sludgy, khaki, moss type shade. It's a little lighter than Sew Psyched but it's near enough and for a £1.00 you certainly can't argue.

This is two coats here but to be honest with better application you could get away with one. Once again another nail polish winner from MUA, what do you think?

A Small Haul - 17, Avon and Neutrogena

Hey my loves - sorry for my absence for the last day or so I really haven't been feeling that up to blogging or doing anything else for that matter. On Friday though Mummy Lou decided that I should go out and get some fresh air. We popped to Asda and then I popped into Boots which to be honest was probably a bit too much for me -I felt awful and really sick and dizzy :( I managed to pay and then get back to the car so it wasn't too embarrassing :( Anyway I picked up a couple of things in Boots including this - The Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Cream Wash

I tried a sample of this when I was on holiday and I have to say I really liked it my skin was left feeling super soft and clean, and the smell was so invegorating, so I thought I'd pick a tube up.

Then came the make up I headed straight to the 17 counter, yes I was looking for the Magnetized polishes but typically my tiny little Boots had none, until I can get to the Metro Centre or Newcastle these babies will have to remain on my wishlist. No matter as a typical beauty junkie I still found something to buy and I got two of the Wild Metallics Cream Eyeshadows

On the left Wild Nude and on the right Wild Green

I've heard good and bad things about these so we'll have to see, the pigmentation is there but they do maybe feel a bit too creamy to be long lasting, still for £3.99 each they were worth a try, especially since I got a free gift the 17 Femme Noir Kit

The kit a Glitter Eyeshadow in Night Sky, a dark grey with sparkle

a Liquid Liner in Black

and an Ultimate Volume Lipgloss in Very Berry

All these items are full sized and the lipgloss is especially pretty especially with my now dark hair :)

That was my Boots haul, but one I got home the girl net door came with my Avon, I was super good and only got one thing this time - a Super Shock Eyeliner

I really like these, I first got one a few years ago and for the price it was really decent, it finally dried out earlier this year, and I really wanted a new one but they were nowhere to be seen. Then in the last catalogue I spotted them again, they are now in slightly metallic shades and the one I got was Blackened Metal which had tiny silver sparkles in it so pretty, and they have such a creamy texture

So that was my baby sized haul using my advantage card points and just £3.99. I will be perhaps heading to Superdrug next week to pick up the rest of my giveaway prize (click here to check it out it ends tomorrow!) but I am really trying to reign in my spending I am so broke it's untrue! If you have any questions or you would like to see reviews on anything I've bought please let me know x
