Quick And Easy Hair Removal With The Dorco Eve 6 Razor*

So the sun is out and it's fair to say that over the last few days in the UK, it's been a scorcher! As well as throwing stuff on the barbecue, and eating our body weight in ice cream, what else does a bit of warm weather mean? Well for some of us it means getting those bits of our bodies out that we've have hiding under our clothes since last summer!

As far as I'm concerned hair removal should always be down to personal choice, I think that there are way too many expectations on both men and women to be smooth and groomed at all times. If you want to get rid of your body hair that's fine, and if you don't want to, that's fine too, it's your body, and you can do whatever you want with it.

I've got to be honest when it comes to hair removal I am pretty lazy for most of the year, and I'll happily let my leg hair reproduce in the winter months, come summer time, though I crave a suntan, be it real or fake, and if you want a smooth, and even tan, then the hair needs to go

By far the quickest and easiest way to remove any excess body hair is to shave it off, personally I'm not a big fan of shaving my legs and it's something that I very rarely do, I prefer to wax it off or use an epilator instead, but I do use a razors occasionally on both my underarms and my bikini line, and they are always something that I have in the house on standby.

You can buy razors pretty much anywhere now, I've even seem them in vending machines in toilets, but did you now that you can buy your razors online? Well you can and I don't just mean from any of the online chemists and supermarkets. you can also buy razors from specialist companies such as Dorco. Dorco have been one of the leading manufacturers of high quality, low cost, razors and shaving equipment for around 60 years now and you can now buy their products exclusively from their own website.

They offer a wide range of men's shaving products including both disposable, and replaceable razors, and blades, and for nearly all of their history that has been their primary focus but recently they have branched out into female personal care, and one of their most recent introductions is the Dorco Eve range which as the name suggests is a line created specifically for women.

Again it's horses for courses and you can buy products to suit you and your lifestyle they offer two different types of disposable razor, the Eve 4 and the Eve 6, which have different types of blades so you can choose what ever suits you best. These particular razors are available in multi packs of 3, 5, and 10 so it's easy to stock up from the comfort of your own home.

A lot of people nowadays though are more environmentally conscious and they are trying to cut down on the amount of waste that they create, if that sounds like you, than the Dorco Eve 6 with replaceable blades might be right up your street.

Using over 60 years of experience, Dorco have used world class technology, to create a high quality and safe razor. The wide head of the razor is specially designed to flex, move and pivot, it's hinged head contours to the curves of your body perfectly equalling a safe and easy shave.

With a flatter and wider head than what you might expect, this razor unusually has 6 blades, and features a double 3 blade design to make hair removal faster and safer. The razor head also features two moisturising bands (the blue stripes) that contain Lavender, Vitamin E, and Aloe Vera, that are designed to both hydrate and protect the skin. The head also contains revolutionary brush fingers, which are tiny flexible rubber nodules (the white strip are on the top of the head) that are specifically designed to help lift up the hairs to make them easier to remove.

These high quality razor blades are replaceable but they're nothing without a handle, and again years and years of razor making technology means that this one is spot on. It has an ergonomically designed and weighted handle, that features rubber grips, to make it easy to hold and to manoeuvre across the body.

As I say I'm not a frequent body shaver but I was kindly sent one of the Dorco Eve 6 razors to try, and I have to say that it was one of the easiest razors that I've ever used. I'd never really used a razor with a head as wide as this one before but it really was a revelation. I tried this razor on both my legs (see below) and on my underarms, and I tried it with both a specialist shaving foam, and a regular shower mousse, and it worked equally well.

The 6 blade system meant that every stroke removed more hairs than what I was used to, making the whole process much quicker and way easier. Thanks to the pivoting and flexible head it was super easy to manoeuvre the razor across those normally awkward lump, bumpy areas like my underarms, and my knee caps. For me it felt a lot safer than some of the razors that I've used, and the results spoke for themselves, I haven't shaved my legs properly for more than 10 years, and despite the fact that I was hopelessly out of practise shaving wise, and that it was the first time that i'd used the razor I only managed one teeny little nick.

Before

After

Dorco claim that this razor is easy to clean, and I'm going to be honest and say that i don't think any razor is easy to clean, the Dorco razor head has an open back, and whilst I do think it helped, I did find that the razor clogged up quite quickly with both foam and hair! Now that could be down to the shaving cream and products that I used but I found that I not only had to rinse but that I also had to give a quick wipe with a tissue every stroke or so.

Despite that though I do think that this is one of the safest and easiest razors that I've ever used. Don't get me wrong I still prefer waxing and epilating for longer lasting hair removal but the Dorco Eve 6 is ideal for when you want to be hair free in a hurry, and by buying your razors and blades online, you can either stock up in one order or you can get your shaving equipment delivered to you when you need it.

What do I mean by that? well Dorco are one of the first, if not the only, site to offer a razor subscription service for both men and women Sign up to the service, and for just £1 in your first shipment you will receive the Dorco Eve 6 handle, and 4 razor blades, your next and subsequent deliveries will each contain another 4 blades, which you can have delivered anytime from just 1 month later right the way up to 6 months later for just £5.45 per delivery. If you're a regular razor user I think that this an amazing idea, you'll never get caught short again when the sun is shining and you want to get your tan on.

If the subscription service isn't for you, then you can buy the Dorco Eve 6 in a variety of different value packs which start at around £5.09 for the handle and two blades, and once you have your handle you can also buy replacement blades which start at around £3.40 for a pack of two.

You find about more about the full Dorco range and purchase options on their official UK website.

If you remove your body hair, what is your preferred method ? Are you a shaver, or a waxer, or do you use a combination of methods? Let me know in the comments and if you're a waxer stick around I might be reviewing something that you might find interesting soon x

Trimming My Stash - May 2017 Edition - Empties And Mini Reviews

A little late I know but like the year so far, the past week has flown by. We're now half way through the year and you know what that means, we're only 6 months or so from Christmas. Ha Ha I know I'm wishing my life away but I do love Christmas and at the moment life is a little bit tough so I really do need something positive to focus on.

I do know something already though, I think this is going to be the first Christmas in living memory where I actually discourage my friends and family from buying me beauty products. I've been reevaluating my beauty stash over the last month and there are actually beauty products from several Christmas's ago that I haven't even opened - me bad! I therefore goes without saying then that I need to really up my game when it comes to Trimming My Stash.

Soap & Glory The Scrub Of Your Life - 200ml
Bath & Body Works Winter Candy Apple Shimmering Shower Gel - 355ml
PS Love Your Skin Oil Balancing Facial Cleansing Wipes - 25 Wipes
Vitamasques Pomegranate Moisturising + Firming + Lifting Sheet Mask x 1
AVON Skin So Soft Tissue Oil - 150ml

Total - 5 Items

I must say, I'm a little bit disappointed with May's total, despite my best efforts, I only managed to finish 5 items. I honestly thought that I would have done better than that but since I'm trying to use products normally and I'm trying to overuse things, some items are just going on and on and on. Still 5 items are better than none and I did manage to finish two of those seemingly never ending products.

1. Soap & Glory The Scrub Of Your Life - 200ml

You should know by now that I'm a huge fan of salt and sugar based scrubs, they are my go to, and they are the type of scrubs that I tend repurchase. Thanks to beauty boxes and gift sets though I have had plenty of opportunities to expand my body scrub knowledge, and thanks to the big Boots Christmas Star Gift from Soap & Glory I've had plenty of opportunities to try out one of their signature body scrubs. Sugar Crush is by far my favourite body scrub from Soap & Glory but if you prefer and gentler and less gritty scrub then this one could be one to try. The Soap & Glory The Scrub Of Your Life  has the original Soap & Glory fragrance and retails at around £7. It's a gel based scrub with very fine exfoliating particles, that foams up when you add water. I'll happily use it again, (I already have another one) but I wouldn't go out of my way to repurchase it on it's own because for me it just isn't scrubby enough.

2. Bath & Body Works Winter Candy Apple Shimmering Shower Gel - 355ml

As much as I enjoy finishing products so I can move on to something knew, this is one of those products that I didn't really want to finish, as it's the last bottle that i own. Despite it's popularity on the other side of the pond Bath & Body Works is very, very hard to get hold of in the UK. I only know of one online store that sells is (The Bath And Body Shop) and even then they don't always stock limited editions or holiday items, so I normally rely on eBay or Amazon, or friends and families US holidays for my Bath And Body Works fix. I've used this product on and off for over 10 years now and I absolutely love it. It's obviously from their Christmas / Holiday collections, and it's got the most fabulous fruity fragrance. You obviously get the apple and a few festive spices but you also get a bit hit of pineapple. Pineapple is a really strange ingredient for a festive scent but for me it really, really works. I have half a bottle of hand sanitiser, and a little bit of body lotion left and then the last of my Winter Candy Apple stash will be gone. I really hope that B&BW bring this fragrance back again this year, and if they are reading this some UK  stores or a UK website would be great as well, pretty please!

3. PS Love Your Skin Oil Balancing Facial Cleansing Wipes - 25 Wipes

Yawn, yawn, yawn another packet of these, means lots of more swatch photographs which means that I have lots of make up reviews in the pipeline - You're welcome x

4. Vitamasques Pomegranate Moisturising + Firming + Lifting Sheet Mask x 1

As much as i love beauty boxes the contents can be a little bit repetitive - If you've been watching my unboxing videos over the last few months or so (check out my You Tube channel I you haven't seen them yet), then you'll have seen quite a few sheet masks and a few in particular from Vitamasques. I actually had two of these so I sent one to one of my giveaway winners, after using it though I kind of wish that I'd kept it. The Pomegranate mask is all about moisturising and firming, and whilst these aren't my main skin concerns, I loved how this mask made my skin feel. Unlike some sheet masks that I've tried this one was very, very wet. It had a slightly fruity fragrance, and it felt really cooling and refreshing on the skin. When I took it off there was quite a bit of dampness and residue left on the skin so I just massaged it in to my skin. I didn't see a huge difference in my skin but it did look a little bit more awake after I removed but it, and it certainly felt plumper and more hydrated. This particular mask retails at around £3.99 and it's available from various retailers including ASOS, Look Fantastic, and HQ Hair. I have a few sheet masks in my collection now and I definitely think they are going to be one of my summer skincare saviours, especially on those warmer days. By the way if you're a bit of a face mask fan, make sure your following my blog, because later this week I'll be reviewing another fruity facial treat x

5. AVON Skin So Soft Tissue Oil - 150ml

Apologies that the labels missing from this bottle, but oiliness and dampness isn't really that conducive to sticky labels! What is it? well it's a body oil designed to help with stretch marks and skin imperfections. What can I say? I'm a woman and thanks to life in general, weight loss and weight gain, I have stretch marks, uneven skin and wobbly bits. When it comes to body care, I must admit that I'm pretty good, and whilst I'm a regular body lotion, body cream and body butter user, I do tend to spend a little bit of extra time on my "problem ares" I'm suckered in by a promise and I always use a firming cream on my stomach, bum, and thighs, and I usually slather my tummy, my hips, thighs, my bum and my boobs in some form of body oil. Whether or not it makes any difference I really can't say but I really don't think that a hit of extra moisturiser will do any harm in the long term, especially when this product contains Vitamin E. I've recently repurchased this product for around £6 and it does seem to have changed slightly, (AVON are probably the worst brand for changing products and reformulating things) but I'm hoping that I still like it. As I say I'm not sure if it's making any real difference to the condition of my lined bits but it feels nice on the skin so I going to keep using it.

So they were May's now famous five products, If you have any questions or comments on any of the items that I've mentioned then please leave me a comment and I'll get back to you x
