Budget Beauty Series Special - VIVO Colour Stain Lip Crayon - Thing Called Love

Like a lot of other bloggers at the moment I'm obsessed with chubby lip crayons. Whilst I have my heart set on the original the Clinique Chubby Stick, I'm also getting pretty obsessed with the high street versions. I really want to try one of the Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayons but I already have some of the MUA, Revlon, Chit Chat, and Ted Baker ones in my collection. The newest one in my collection though is the VIVO Colour Stain Lip Crayon.

They come in 6 shades from the brightest coral, to bright pink and red, but I went for one of the more neutral options a shade called Thing Called Love.

The packaging unsurprisingly is like pretty much every other lip crayon on the market, it works well and unlike some I've tried the lid stays put when it's in your handbag.

The colour of the tube is a little deceptive - There were no testers available so I just picked the nudest looking tube that I could see. The colour of the product inside is also a little misleading I wasn't sure about the shade when I first opened it, it wasn't the nude beige tone that I expected, instead it was more of a darker neutral pink / brown shade that I wasn't sure would suit me.

I needn't have worried though, when it's swatched it comes across as a lovely nude pink, with a lot of warmth to it.

Like the MUA version they have a really pleasant mint aroma and taste, and they have a really glossy finish that allows your natural lip colour to come through. It very moistursing and has a slightly tingly feel on the lips. Here's a few pics to show you what it looks like on me, apologies that the close up picture isn't great though x

Despite my initial reservations the colour is really flattering, Mummy Lou loved it on me and I think it gives my lips a real my lips but better and glossier, finish. The initial gloss wore off within an hour or so but it did leave a slight tint to the lips which lasted for a couple of hours.

I have to say this is one of the nicest lip crayons that I've tried. The colour was good, the taste was pleasant and the wear wasn't bad. This reminded me quite a lot of the MUA Power Pouts which isn't surprising when you bear in mind that they seems to owned by the same company. These are a really cheap way to try the lip crayon trend on a budget, these normally retail at £3.99 from larger Tesco stores and from the VIVO website, but they are currently on special on the website at just £1.99 each - bargain! I really fancy trying Bootylicious and Wide Awake but I must stay strong lol Have you tried these? What is you favourite lip crayon? let me know in the comments x
