On The Hunt For That Perfect Base With Living Nature - A Review For My Pure

OK Guys - Lets talk about foundation, if your anything like me your probably have numerous bottles floating around but you've never quite found the one - don't get me wrong their are lots of foundations in my collection that I like but there isn't one that I would describe as my holy grail. I'm starting to sound like a broken record aren't I said pretty much the same thing about tinted moisturiser last month. Even though the Living Nature Clear Lights Tinted Moisturiser didn't quite hit the holy grail spot it was still pretty impressive, so for one of this months My Pure reviews I decided  to try out one of their foundations.

Living Nature produce two different foundation formulations, the Illuminating Tint Light Foundation, and the one I went for simply titled Living Nature Foundation.

This foundation from New Zealands premier natural beauty company contains all sorts of natural ingredients including macadamia, jojoba, and avocado oils, manuka honey, tea tree oil, , grapefruit seed extract and vitamin E.

Like the rest of the Living Nature products I've reviewed, this product comes boxed, and packaged in a frosted glass bottle with a lockable pump similar to MAC's Studio Fix Fluid.

This foundation comes in 6 shades, yet again I think it's very difficult to pick a colour by using the My Pure site, so I had a little search on the internet for some swatches , and I eventually went for Pure Taupe which looks to be one of the lightest shades.

It's quite pale but importantly for me it has a pink undertone, which looks much more natural on my skin.

This foundation has a no discernible scent and has a liquid, but creamy texture, and it gives a natural, medium coverage. I applied this in several ways including with a sponge, a foundation brush, a stippling brush and yes with my fingers, and I have to say all these methods worked out just fine and gave a really natural, nearly flawless finish. How about some before and after pics - apologies for the gormless expressions and the hideous lighting!

As I say the pictures aren't great, but hopefully you can see how natural this looks, I've used no concealer or powder in these pictures, and you can hopefully see how well its evened out my skin tone. My skin as you probably know is oily / combination which normally plays havoc with my foundation but this one lasted pretty well even without using primer or face powder. Have I found my holy grail foundation? well probably not, I'm still looking for something that will last all day without powder or primer, but I have to say I've really enjoyed using this product - I've loved the finish that it leaves on my skin and it rightfully deserves it's place in my April Favourites. The one set back? the price, whilst this isn't the most expensive foundation on the market, it still retails at £20 which could be prohibitive for some people, if it's not though and you like a natural finish to your foundation, this could be one to try. Living Nature Foundation retails at £20 for 30ml from My Pure. If you have any questions please leave me a comment, and I've love it if you'd let me know  what your HG foundation is? xx
