Happy Easter

Well the week ended on a happy note - I've had a bit of a rough week with me and my mum feeling under the weather , and my godfather being admitted to hospital - thankfully though they think it was just a virus and he was released in time for the Easter weekend.
So if you celebrate Easter hope you've had a good one so far - as per usual for my family Easter is a time for lots of yummy food so today I did a bit of Easter baking :) First of all I made the customary Easter chocolate cake - normally we just make a normal gluten free chocolate sponge but after watching this video from the lovely Sarah - I decided to try this Nigella Lawson recipe for Birthday Custard Sponge - I used gluten free flour and replaced a tablespoon of that with cocoa powder for a chocolate kick :) I then filled it with the custard butter cream and topped it with melted dairy milk and mini eggs - yummy!

I also made the usual chocolate crispy cake Easter nests again with mini eggs

So I am a bit chocolated off I haven't even touched my Easter eggs yet - oh dear - but I do have two super cute Hello Kitty ones :) Happy Easter xx
