A Little Round Up, A Few Buys and A Blog Sale Update

Hi Guys
I thought I would just do a quick update post for you starting with a few packages I received this afternoon :) Starting with my first GlossyBox I am not going to go into too much detail about this because your timeline will probably be stuffed full of posts on it today - Quick Pic

All I'll say is that I am super happy with box No. 1 the Nars Orgasm Illuminator is £21.50 on it's own!!! I doubt future boxes will be worth is much but number one is certainly worth the £10

Next up a little blog sale purchase from the lovely Ashlie - MAC Eyeshadow in Caviar Dreams

This originally came from the Caviar Dreams quad issued with Cham Pale - I really wanted this colour in particular so I was delighted to see it in Ashlie's sale. It looks quite grey here but it has a lovely taupe undertone

My last parcel came courtsey of the lovely Yinka aka Vex in the City - I recently won a giveaway on her blog in association with Feel Unique and the prize was a Nubar Nail Polish of my choice - they really have an amazing colour selection so it was super hard but eventually I went for Absolute - a beautiful pale blue cram packed full of glitter and sparkle :)

So that was today's parcels - Due to all this haulage my post schedule for this week has been somewhat screwed up, but I am going to try and get 2 non haulage posts up by the weekend a product rave and review and a review and giveaway over the weekend x
I also going to be starting my ebay listings up again this weekend, free listings if your in the UK and Ireland :) There won't be any clothes this time round mainly just accessories, shoes (brand new shoes at that), and maybe a few books and things - I'll link in the sidebar when my listings go live x
I've also done a little blog sale updat this week replacing all the items that blogger deleted, reducing a few and adding a few new things so don't forget to check it out here

Dorothy Perkins and Next Haulage :)

Ever the sucker for a discount code and the word sale I had a little splurge over the weekend. Next very kindly emailed me a £5 discount code to celebrate my birthday - how many companies do this now I had loads of discount emails over the weekend? Anyways there wasn't anything clothes wise I fancied but I did fancy a pair of shoes, well trainers to be precise

These are the NX Tone Ups, basically Nexts version of MBT'S, Sketchers Shape Ups, and Reebox EasyTones. Basically trainers that are designed to work you muscles and help your legs tone up. As you know I can't do a lot of excercise because of my ME so to be honest I need every bit of help I can get - I also love these because they are specially designed to ease the impact on your knees, hips and ankles. I tried them today and they are so comfy and supportive especially around my ankle bones which is exactly what I've been looking for - I got them for £40 instead of £45 which is much cheaper than any of the other trainers of this type.

Next up Dorothy Perkins - It's VIP week so they are offering 25% off online with the code DPVIPD - So it would have been wrong not to have a little splurge - As well as a pair of boring black leggingsI got this frill ribbed vest

I also got this petal trimmed top - it's basically a navy blue t with an elasticated hem and cute little chiffon heart petals on the sleeves

It is so sweet the pics really aren't doing it justice - I have also just ordered it in the coral and yes the discount code worked again :)

Nails Inc Bargains

Last week I got a little email from Nails Inc telling me about one of their special offers. If you subscribe to emails from Nails Inc every so often they will send you an email telling you about a special offer or a special priced collection. Last weeks was a goodie 6 polishes for just £15, baring in mind Nails Inc retails at around £11.50 a bottle it was well worth it. I also had a 20% discount code via InStyle magazine (Instyle20) so it would have been wrong not to place an order ;)
The only catch with the offer is that it was a lucky dip so you couldn't choose which colours you'd like but it was a chance worth taking :)
Well they came today and I have to say I am so pleased with the collection and the colours that I was sent :)

Top Row - From L-R - Spring Mews - a minty turquoise green, Maple Street - a dark golden bronze, and Blenheim Terrace - a peachy nude with a slight shimmer

Bottom Row - From L-R - Culford Gardens - a gorgeous sparkly gold, Villiers Street - a gorgeous shimmery metallic red and Garrick Street - a gorgeous metallic purple shot through with blue

I don't own any of these colours which was a bit of a surprise considering how many Nails Inc polishes I already have :) Culford Gardens and Villiers Street are quite similar to Westminster Abbey and Sandringham from The Royal Collection but I love both colours and they are ever so slightly different so I'll be hanging on to them :)

Since I was placing an order anyways I couldn't resist ordering something from my wishlist Lexington Street

None of my pics will do this justice but it really is gorgeous it's described as metallic purple with an emerald green glitter effect gorgeous :) I really wanted Franklins Row too but alas that seems to be long gone but Garrick Street for me seems to be a close enough dupe so I am a happy Lou x

Not only that but last night I found out I had won a Nails Inc Goodie Bag from an online discount cosmetic store :) and I won an Orly polish from a blog giveaway I certainly am lucky at the moment - I'll obviously post pics etc. when they come. Any questions in the meantime let me know xx

Birthday Pressies

I know a lot of people aren't keen on pressie hauls but the common consensus from here and on twitter was that you would like to see what I got for my birthday - well I can't really get toys anymore now I'm 33 (apart from Wii games I guess - Zumba for the Wii anyone ;) so my pressies are of the make up, clothes, and jewellery variety. I did get a few other bits such as some cute cat mugs, some books, a cute photo album, some flowers, and more chocolates than you can shake a stick at but I guess it's the clothes and beauty stuff you'll be interested in :) First up clothes and accessories :) I got two dresses, first of all this Primark dress come tunic from Mummy Lou x

It's a gorgeous blue colour and has lovely silvery detailing - I would only wear this as a dress maybe on holiday but I think it will also look good over leggings :)

Next up from my godparents I got this dress - look familar?

Yes it another floral maxi dress - this is very similar to the turquoise and the black one I already have :) This one is obviously in purple and is by a brand called Mela Loves London from New Look.

My Godparents also kindly got me these Weymouth Bow Sandals from Peacocks which have been on my wishlist for some time x

I also got few jewellery bits including these bracelets - the blue ones are from Mummy Lou and are from a brand called Silk Route Fashion Jewellery (possibly from QVC?) they have loads of little enamelled, stone and glass beads and they match my dress :) The daisy clamp bangle is from Primark and came from my Godparents

My Godparents also got me a couple of other jewellery pieces also with a daisy theme - this silver daisy necklace and these Peacocks earrings as modelled by Mummy Lou x I love daisies me :)

I also got a Primark gift card from one of my besties Helen :) I think I'll hang onto this for a little bit though as I've been to Primark twice in the last 2 weeks so I think I'll  wait for some new things to come in. I've also had a little clothing splurge with some my birthday money and discount so pics when  it all comes xx

Next up beauty things - I have to say I dropped a few helpful hints and pointed people in the direction of my wishlist  which certainly seemed to do the trick - Mummy Lou was a star and got my lots of great bits :)

First up the Illamasqua Cream pigments that I wanted - on the left Hollow and on the right Delirium

She also got my a few MAC things including a back up of Idol Eyes eyeshadow

and Posey Blushcreme

She also managed to get me this

The Fearne Cotton Hat Box from Boots :) The was from the Christmas collection where it retailed as £40 - she wouldn't pay that and neither would I but we spotted it on a sale shelf for £15 so she kept it back for my birthday :) I have to be honest and say I only really wanted it for the box which is absolutely gorgeous and comes tied with a pink velvet ribbon, but it did come filled with make up. First up a heart shaped cosmetic bag and an summery bronze eyeshadow compact - I was really quite surprised these shadows are super pigmented

It also contained 4 lipglosses, a gorgeous nude lipstick, 2 eye colour pencils, a black kohl pencil and a mini mascara, and an animal print powder puff, and two loose shadows

I am much more pleased with the contents than I originally expected I am not convinced it was all worth £40 but it definitely wasn't bad for £15 I personally would have paid that for the box x

My bestie Dawn also got me a few beauty things as part of my present including the Barry M White Foundation Creme which I intend to use to lighten other foundations, an MUA nail polish, and a two phase Max Factor lipgloss which I am really excited to try

Finally after a bit of persuasion Mummy Lou ordered this Alpha H kit from QVC for me - Twitter was awash with talk of the brilliance of Liquid Gold last week and I have to say I was sucked in - I am testing a few skin things at the moment but when I've finished them I am going to give this a proper go :)

I also got a few Body Shop staples from my mummy, who also picked up the Vitamin C Skin Reviver for me - which is basically a primer and retexturiser I can't wait to try this either it smells yummy, and I also placed a few beauty orders with my birthday money including some Nars and Nails Inc pics when they come of course x

Lots of Goods and A Couple of Tiny Bads

Hey my loves welcome to this weeks goods and bad posts which for once is predominantly positive :)

Goods

• Yesterday in case you didn't  know was my birthday - my celebrations started on Friday when I went for a gorgeous meal with one of my best friends - I know she reads my blog so Hi Dawn :) It was really nice to spend some time together and catch up - sometimes life just gets in and we don't see as much of our friends as we should x Saturday was pretty quiet apart from a visit from some relatives and then of course there was the big day itself. Unusually for my birthday it was quite a quiet one the relatives I usually spend time with were on holiday so it was just me and Mummy Lou so what did we do? we had a great but quiet day, chatting and eating yummy food to almost bursting point :)Check out my gluten free birthday carrot cake above ;) I was so spoilt by all my friends and family it was untrue - a few of you have requested a pressie post so I'll try and get that up today or tomorrow :) I did get a little bit of spends but that has already gone whoops, thanks to ASOS, Dorothy Perkins, Nails Inc, and believe it or not H&M - yes I know I ranted about their service but £2.99 for a dress is just to good to turn down!
• As well as my immediate friends and family I was also overwhelmed by the lovely birthday wishes from you guys on both here and on twitter, and by all my facebook friends everyone was so kind yesterday and I really appreciate it x

Bads

• I suppose with every good there has to be a bad and unfortunately I broke one of the little lugs on the battery compartment of my camera which means the battery compartment won't shut properly and the camera keeps turning itself off - I am managing at the moment by taping it up but I really need a better solution or a new camera grr
• and of course it wouldn't be a good and bads post without a bit on my ankle - well it started to hurt on Saturday morning and I had to wear my splint all weekend to walk without pain grr thankfully it seems to be ok this morning but I guess it's just one of the things I'm going to have to get used to
• Well that was rather positive on the whole wasn't it  :) I have a few planned posts for this week mainly ones that I never got round to from last week hmm. First up there will be my birthday pressie haul, then maybe a product rave and then a product review and drumroll... a giveaway. I will also be posting an updated blog sale page on Wednesday after blogger kindly lost half of my items hmm. Thanks as per usual for sticking around and thanks for being lovely xx

Happy Birthday To Me - I am shock of horrors 33 today - I am officially in my 30's now scary ;) Just a quick post to say thank you to everyone on here, facebook and twitter for the birthday wishes = everyone has been so kind today and I've really appreciated it x I've had a pretty quiet day after a busy weekend watched a bit of football and had lots of yummy food. I must say I've been well and truly spoilt by everyone I may do a little birthday pressie post if your interested, so let me know if you are x I'll see you soon with some more posts, thanks again xx

Metro Centre and Ebay Purchasing

Hey my loves this post is a little late because of bloggers meltdown, and my evening out but on Thursday me and Mummy Lou popped to the Metro Centre to see if we could find something for my birthday :) We got a few things for said event and I picked up a few things myself - first up Top Shop - If your a Top Shop cardholder you normally get sent a voucher just before your birthday containing a discount, you used to be able to use it online but for the last couple of years you've only been able to use it in store. My purchases weren't super interesting but still - first up these ruffle, ridge style vest in both white and in purple

Then just some plain vests in white and this kind of peachy nude colour

I also got one of the loose powder blushers in Rosy - it's quite a subtle peachy pink shade ideal for a splash of natural colour

Then I popped to Superdrug to pick up one of the new Beauty Cards I also had a little look at the make up I was particularly looking for the new Sleek lipsticks but the Sleek display was pretty empty so I went to look at the new Beauty UK releases - like last week they still had no testers for anything but I took the chance and picked up two of the baked blushers - well it would have been wrong not too they had a special offer on where you could get 2 baked products for only £6.00 and Mummy LouLou paid :). First up I got one of the lovely pink shades 1 Candy Shop

It looks quite scary in the pan but it really isn't

I also got 5 Peaches and Cream, a lovely neutral peach tone

This is so pretty if you like Nars Orgasm then you should like this x

I am really impressed they maybe aren't for you if you don't like shimmer or if you have darker skins but they are really pretty - I wore the pink one on Friday night and I have to say it was soooo pretty and fresh  x

I know I said on twitter that I wasn't going to pick up another copy of Instyle but I did, my subscription copy didn't come with the free Nails Inc polish and once I saw some swatches of Electric Teal I knew I wanted it :)

So that was my Metro Centre haulage pretty restrained for me I'm sure you'll agree but I do have a few bits to show you that came from ebay - first up nails I placed a little order a few weeks ago with Enchanted Beauty Spot I just got the 3 things, an OPI polish in Not Like The Movies - this was from the Katy Perry collection and I love it, I love anything that shimmers and changes colour

Next up some OPI Avoplex -I've used lots and lots of nail oils and I have to say this is my favourite - my nails are so dry at the moment and I really need this heavy duty moisturiser

Finally I ordered Essie Allure - I am planning on wearing this nude shade with Bourjois Rose Lounge to try and replicate Catherine Middleton's wedding day nails x

This next purchase was my first post Project 10 Pan make up purchase I ordered these the day after I finished P10P Bad LouLou :) It was the much talked about Wet n Wild Color Icon palettes

I got the six palettes in 249 Vanity which is the brown toned palette, with 3 matte and 3 shimmer shades ranging from dark brown to cream

and I also got 247 Pride, which is the blues and greens palette again it contains 3 matte and 3 shimmer shades, ranging from a white to a dark blue x

I also got a few more US make up bits via ebay including a L'oreal HIP Eyeshadow Duo in 936 Rascal, a pinkish nude shade and a dark smokey grey

I also got a L'Oreal HIP Intense Definition Eye Pencil in 325 Dark Night, a dark brown

 

and a Maybelline Eye Studio Cream Shadow Trio in 102 Silver Starlet
