A Sad Life Update - Losing A Pet - 4 Becomes 3

I try not to do too many personal posts now but I wanted to share my news and my experience with you.

I know we have just under a month to go but it's safe to say that I can't wait to see the back of 2016. If you follow me on any of my other social media channels (links in the sidebar) you'll know that last week was pretty horrible.

It started off okay but from Tuesday onwards everything went much downhill. My beautiful Persian cat, Jasper stopped eating, I tried to tempt him with a Dreamies treat which he ate with such ferocity, that he ended up biting into my right index finger. I've had cat bites and scratches before but this one was a bit different, the pain was horrendous and my finger went bright red and swelled up.

A trip to urgent care (round of applause to the NHS by way - great service!) was on the cards, and after a thorough clean, dressing, and a tetanus jab I returned home to a poorly cat with two lots of antibiotics to combat any infection I may have gotten. I think I'm going to end up with a scar but at the time I was more concerned about my ginger boy.

He had several health problems and over the next few days he steadily deteriorated but he wasn't in any pain and we hoped open hope, that he would pass away peacefully in his sleep, but being the stubborn cat that he was, he held on till Saturday morning, when me and my mum made the decision to say our goodbyes and take him to our local vets for the final time.

What can I say about Jasper, the fluffiest, most stubborn, most loving, most laid back and most complicated cat that I've ever met. He came into my life nearly 13 and a half years ago, when I was dealing with the loss of my dad and the two Siamese cats that I had since I was little, my life was in turmoil, and the little furry faced man made things better in an instant. Even with three cats now the house is just that little bit quieter - Charlie keeps running up stairs and looking in all of the rooms, and Tallulah and Jake are jumping up, running and waking up at even the slightest sound.

I know a few people who've said to me that they can't or won't have pets because they can't deal with losing them but I think that's the wrong way to look at it. Pets teach you so much about life, yes they teach you how to deal with loss, and they teach you responsibility but they also teach you about love. An animals love is unconditional, they ask for so little in return for years and years of love and companionship. I know it sounds strange to some people but animals really do become a part of your family, they see you at your best and at your worst, and there always there when you need a furry, feathery or scaly shoulder to cry on, or someone to vent too.

We're hurting at the moment but the pain will ease and we have 13 and a half years of happy memories to cherish. Thank you so much for reading and for your lovely sympathy messages and comments, I really do appreciate them x I'm going to end this post with a picture I shared on all of my other social media accounts this week, it's so typical of the cat that he was, Jasper doing something that he shouldn't have been but with that look on his face that made you forgive him in an instant x

A New Arrival In LouLouLand

If you follow me on twitter you'll know that last night I posted a few strange tweets, I was sitting in the car, in the freezing cold in the middle of nowhere waiting for Mummy Lou to come out of a strange house - why? well she was collecting my Christmas present!

Isn't he gorgeous :) His name is Charlie and he's about 8 weeks old. I'd pleaded no begged for another cat, and eventually she gave in. It's funny she'd taken Tallulah for her jabs a couple of weeks ago and she'd noticed the local RSPCA kitten rescue poster and she couldn't resist telling me about the kitten in the picture, I wanted no needed it! Imagine her surprise when she want to the kitten foster home (the strange house!) and the kitten they had for her was the kitten from the poster!

He's gorgeous, he's a semi long hair, and is white, with silver grey and ginger tabby markings, and he has the most gorgeous green eyes. He's quite thin and he has the teeniest little head but the longest body, legs and tail I've ever seen on a kitten

He's pretty nervous at the moment and has taken to hiding behind the Christmas Tree, but we've had a nice little cuddle and he's purred. The lady said he'd need a bit of he was very loving but he'd need a bit of coaxing so were just letting him have his space at the moment.

What about the other 3, well Jasper keeps trying to sniff him and make friends, Jake is being his usual jealous self and keeps growling at him, and Tallulah seems terrified of him and keeps decamping upstairs to my bedroom. Still it's early days,he's only been in the house since 6pm yesterday, so we're all getting used to each other. I know people will say why do you need four cats?well I have lots of furry love to go round and I'm proud to be a mad cat lady :) Huge thanks to my mam, and of course Father Christmas for my new addition :)

Sunny Monday

Afternoon everyone x I hope you have had an amazing weekend Jasper as you can see thoroughly enjoyed lying in the sunshine, I don't know how he does it with all that fur, maybe it keeps him cool somehow? My weekend I have to say wasn't too great I had a bit of a nasty tummy bug which seems to have passed right through my family :( Nevermind I'm feeling a bit better now and I managed to lose 2 lbs this week so it wasn't all bad. I'm going on a bit of a roadtrip tomorrow with my mum and my godmother - we are heading to a local museum which happens to be currently hosting an exhibition of Vivienne Westwood's shoe designs - I'll hopefully tell you more about it later in the week but I'm really looking forward to it x I'm also planning to do a few review posts, my monthly roundup, and maybe a little haul this week, and tomorrow I'll start the week off properly with a nails of the day for you.
I just want to say a huge thanks to you all for keeping the faith and following and a big hi to all my new followers I really do appreciate every single one of you, and yes I will be hosting a special giveaway when I reach 500 followers x I am now away to unplug my laptop as we are currently in the middle of a horrid thunderstorm, I knew the sun wouldn't last ! See you soon xx

Where Did This Week Go?

I had so many plans for posts this week but as I keep saying the plans of mice and men. Monday I felt like yack, Tuesday I had a lovely day out with my godmother (we found my Christmas pressie :) ) but unsurprisingly I was left exhausted, and yesterday when I had planned to do a catch up I had one poorly pussy cat. Both Jake and Tallulah have had a bit of a tummy bug but being a bit older it hit Jasper worse. He was so lethargic yesterday, not eating or drinking, or even responding when you stroked him :( So we decided to take him to the vet last night. The vet said there wasn't too much to worry about but he gave him an antibiotic shot just in case, and we have to take him back on Friday. Thankfully today he seems much brighter and he had had some breakfast - thank goodness. So apologies for the lack of posts and twitter updates I am back on track from now so expect a few posts today including my Christmas giveaway winner. Thanks for bearing with me xxx

The Surprise Revealed

A New Kitten!
We had been talking about getting another cat for a while and my mum decided it was just the boost I needed. My mum went to collect from her RSPCA foster parents this morning - she is a 9 week old, black and white longhair and her name is Tallulah. We were told last night that she was boy so we had spent last night choosing boys names so when my mum went to went to get her she got a bit of a shock lol so Tallulah it is. She seems very timid and nervous but she has plenty of time to settle in. Jasper doesn't seem that bothered by her he had a sniff whilst she hissed at him, whilst Jake just seems terrified of her lol I predict the fur will be flying for a while lol never mind she is a treasured addition to our home.I will get some more pics and maybe a video when she calms down a little bit x

Sunshine Here I Come!

Well here it is my last post for about a week - tomorrow I jet off for a week of hopefully sunny sun in Cyprus. I hope I will be OK with the heat and I don't have any bad spells while I am away. Hopefully the change of scenery and heat will be a good thing (fingers crossed) Obviously feeling a bit erm about leaving the lads but they will be having a little holiday of their own not in any cattery you understand but a cat hotel! so hopefully they will be OK!
Not much else to say really apart from the fantastic news that Wispa bars are been reintroduced on a limited edition basis - well done Cadbury for listening to your consumers Wispa Golds now please!
OK chicks see you soon (hopefully when I am nice and tanned!)
