My MAC Goodies Beat The Blizzards + A Rant

Hey all - If you follow me on twitter you'll know that I have been monitoring my MAC parcel for the last few days - after several days of coming up as "Undeliverable Due To Adverse Weather" - my parcel was eventually delivered this afternoon. I am not saying that conditions have improved outside because they 100% haven't in face the poor woman that bring a lot of my deliveries had to dig herself out of drifts twice whilst doing her route- would you believe it she couldn't make her bosses at DHL understand quite how bad some of the minor roads are in my area -it really is getting ridiculous the council no longer have enough grit to do any roads bar the A and main B routes let alone the pavements. A few of my neighbours have being trying to dig sections of the street out but to be honest they are fighting a losing battle, every night they are getting more snow and a thick layer of ice over the top of what they've cleared :( We really feel a bit marooned public transport is hitty missy, only priority mail is coming through i.e. none! , and I still have parcels stuck at various delivery depots. I feel sorry for the poor delivery people the council really shouldn't have let it get in this state in the first place - I know its the worst snow and weather for a long time but god knows what we would do in a real crisis!
Anyways happier things poor Angela (my DHL woman) got my lovely MAC parcel to me this afternoon (I did make sure she knew how grateful I was). If you follow me on twitter you'll know that I was a really good girl and only ordered two items from my wishlist (although several items tempted me :)
So what did I get - no surprise with the first one By Candlelight MSF - OMG I love this - I didn't discover the wonder of MSF's till last year and this one truly is a beaut - I won't swatch it because there are loads of those around in blogland but its a gorgeous peachy, gold colour - my new fave MSF

I also ordered the Tinted Lip Conditioner in Feelin' Good - a true nude shade a little bit sheerer than I originally though but its lovely and moisturising - quite fancied the other one too but this one will have to do :)

Foodie Time

I just thought I'd show you a little pic of tonights dinner Broccoli and Walnut Pasta:) I borrowed the recipe from the fabulous Geeky Weirdo Chick - altering it slightly using gluten free pasta twists, just red peppers, and using a mixure of cheddar and stilton and mixing it all together.It was yummy -thank you so much for a lovely recipe that went down well with me and my mum on a cold and snowy night :)

YSL Rouge Volupte Swatches and Haul

Just after Christmas I placed a little Boots haul paid for by my Christmas money well the first part of it came yesterday (the rest of it is stuck in the depot due to "adverse weather conditions") and it wasn't that interesting just vitamins etc. well that is apart from this baby -YSL Rouge Volupte No. 2 Sensual Silk


I have wanted this for ages and I'm really pleased to have it - I mentioned it on twitter the other day and one of my friends and followers wanted some swatches of these lippies
I only have one other which is No.1 Nude Beige

Some More Snow Pics

Yup as you can see we still have snow and with weather conditions set to deteriorate as the week goes on it seems as though we have some more to look forward too - argh (note super cute Pucci wellies)


Still I managed to place my MAC Warm and Cozy order this afternoon so that has lifted my spirits a bit :) especially since I was super good and only ordered the two items from my wishlist :) Can't wait till they arrive :)

Cocktail Cosmetics Post Christmas Haul

I didn't have time to post this sooner but yesterday I received an order from Cocktail Cosmetics that I placed just after Christmas (so no it doesn't count towards my January spending diet:))
Having heard the recent news about the change in MAC pigment size (less pigment for the same price grr!) and having been unable to get hold of this for sometime - I decided to order this

Gold Olive pigment - I love, love, love this colour and colours like it -a perfect mixture of green and gold :)

and since there was 10% off everything I also ordered a NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Cottage Cheese - a gorgeous slightly silvery white - nothing irl like cottage cheese lol :)

2009 Stashes Trimmed and Spending Bans - A Summary and A Look Forward

Happy New Year Everyone :)
Well 2009 that was the year that was. As you know in 2009 I attempted first of all a spending ban and secondly a spending diet I have to say on both counts the only word to say is FAIL ! An out and out spending ban was destined to fail from day one -to buy nothing at all must be damn near impossible especially for me. The spending diet was slightly more successful but still a big, fat FAIL over all. The big news is that in 2010 I will be resuming my spending diet - I am going to be a bit more realistic this time though, £30 over the course of a month just isn't feasible for me personally so my limit will be £40 per month with the + and - carrying over each month. I really do need to stick to it this year as my finances are rapidly running lol so I will be taking on Gok Wan's philosophy of buy less, wear more! I am going to try to actually utilise my wardrobe better this year and actually wear more than the 20% of it that I currently do now so look out for some wardrobe gems on my blog that I will no doubt pull out over the year :)
The same is also going to apply to make up and smellies I am going to just try and replace what I use up or what I feel fills a genuine need in my collection -like most people have said especially with MAC collections they have bought for buying sake and I have definitely done the same - if its something different from what I have got fair enough but if its not no go ;) I am also making a huge ploy this year not to buy any Mascara till I have used up what I have got or Nail Polish (bar George - Superstar) as I probably have more bottles than an average nail salon lol (not including nail treatments e.g nail envy, or lash growth stimulator's)Eeek ! I am also going to be persevering with my Trimming My Stash - I have been doing pretty well with this one to be honest - in December I finished 14 item

I am really impressed with that obviously some areas eg make up need some work but not bad -my challenge therefore is to see how many items I can use up in 2010 !

Obviously because of my blog is going to change a little bit because of this so expect slightly less hauls (after all my sale goodies come obviously I'm not counting those as they were ordered in December;) ) and more NOTD, OOTD posts, more reviews, and some other more personal focused posts
