Trimming My Stash - January 2014 Edition - Empties And Mini Reviews

Happy February Guys x Believe me I'm not wishing the year away already, one month down though just means we are a tiny bit closer to summer and I'm really missing the light and the sun. Like every month of last year, and the year before and the year before that etc, etc I've been counting down my empties in something which I call Trimming My Stash, For you new readers I have a pretty astronomic stash of beauty products. I do give a lot away and occasionally I still some bit but some how I just accumulate more and more. In 2014 though I'm determined to use up as much stuff as I can and only buy what I need *coughs*. So how many empties did I finish in January? well see for yourself...

Total - 11 Items

Yes, 11 items, I'm really pleased with that and it really sets me up for the rest of the year. I'm disappointed that I didn't finish any make up items but I haven't worn that much make up in January so it's not really surprising. I've hit pan on a few things though so hopefully I'll finish a few make up bits over the next couple of months. I did manage to finish a nice variety of skincare and body care items though and here's what I thought about them..

1. Amie Spring Clean Cooling Clay Mask - 10ml

I've had a bit of a hormonal break out over the last few days and I wanted something just to calm it down a bit and this did the business. It's a clay based mask but it's very cooling and refreshing on the skin, and it has a lovely zesty lime based smell. This was a sachet but I will eventually get round to buying the full size.

2. L'Oreal Skin Perfection 3 In 1 Purifying Micellar Solution - 200ml

Another bottle of this one gone. Again I've predominantly used it as an eye make up remover, but I've also naughtily used it remove all of my make up and do a morning cleanse more than once. You can read a full review of this product here x This will probably be my last purchase of this for a little while because I was lucky enough to receive a couple of bottles of a very spendy eye make up remover that I love and that I'll be reviewing for you soon x

3. AVON Pearly Peach Bubble Bath - 1000ml

Apologies that there is no picture of this one but my mummy thought it was rubbish and threw it away before I'd had the chance to photograph it grr. This is one of the mega litre sized bubble baths that AVON do every so often. The fragrances change a lot and this is now discontinued but it gave a lovely peachy scent and loads of bubbles. These are really good value are well worth picking up when they are on offer

4. I Love Winter Berries Bubble Bath And Shower Creme - 100ml

This is a mini bottle from a set that I received last year. I love most of the I Love range and this product was no exception. It had a lovely blackcurrant, plum type smells laced with a little bit of warmth which I think was vanilla. I have a litttle body butter and a 500ml size of this to use up so I can enjoy the smell for a little bit longer.

5. No 7 Soft And Soothed Gentle Toner - 200ml

I bought this a little while ago now with one of those No 7 vouchers that they often give out but I probably wouldn't repurchase. Don't get me wrong there's nothing wrong with it just, well didn't seem to do very much. It felt okay on the skin but it didn't smell that great and I didn't really see any difference in my skin whilst using it.

6. Nivea Fresh Natural Care Deodorant - 35ml

Of all the deodorants that I've used over the years my favourite has to be Nivea. I love the smell of Nivea products in general and I've never suffered any problems or irritation. I prefer the Nivea Pearl fragrance but this mini deodorant was good and did the job and I would definitely repurchase.

7. L'Oreal Elnett Satin Heat Protect Styling Spray - 170ml

Meehhhh. That pretty much sums this up like the No 7 toner I didn't dislike it and it did the job but it just didn't wow me. This product seemed to be all about the packaging to me and whilst it did the job I've already repurchased  my favourite heat protection from Tresemme.

8. Pretty Perfect Twist And Out Instant Nail Polish Remover With Acetone - 55ml

A cheap nail polish remover pot, it did the job but it STANK like high heaven, and it seemed to dry out really quickly. Good for emergencies but that's about it I probably wouldn't repurchase.

9. The Body Shop Black Velvet Apricot Body Butter - 200ml

A long discontinued Christmas product from The Body Shop, and yet again something that left me feeling a little bit indifferent. It had a nice enough smell, soft and subtle apricot and like every other body butter from The Body Shop it did the job but I just didn't love it.

10. The Body Shop Candied Ginger Body Scrub - 50ml

Another Christmas item from The Body Shop, and this time a current ish one. This was a mini body scrub from a gift set. It smelled nice although not as gingery as I would have expected given the name, instead it had more of a warm, spicy note. It was nice and gritty and it did the job.

11. Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel - 250g

Ahhh Snow Fairy how I love thee. I'm not as obsessed as some people are by it but I do love the sweetie, slightly sickly, fruity smell and the sparkles in the bottle. I was nearly a very unhappy LouLou because I didn't get any for Christmas and I didn't manage to get any in the sale :( thankfully though one of my lovely friends Helen came up trumps in a belated Christmas gift - Thanks Helen x calm restored x

So they were my January empties, If you have any questions on anything that I've used up please leave me your musings below, and if you've done a recent post please link me up x I love reading them x
