Nails Of The Day - Feeling Blue

I wouldn't say I'm feeling blue, more tired and exhausted with way too much to do as per usual, but as you know I love blue nail varnish and I never need any excuse to wear it

Apologies for the rather rubbishy painting the lighting was awful and I had a serious case of the shakes, this is the Blue shade in the Boots Magnetized Polish

I love the colour and the effect but maybe I should have attempted something easier when I wasn't feeling up to it. What do you think of magnetized polish?

Nails Of The Day - My First Attempt At Magnetic Nails With 17

OK I know your probably getting sick of posts on the newest nail craze to hit the blogosphere but I think its something worth posting about :). I finally managed to get my grubby little hands on a bottle of the 17 Magnetized Polish a few weeks ago. Although I had a little try on one nail to show someone how it worked I hadn't had time to do a full manicure with it until now.

This is Green, which is much more of a teal shade than a classic green. It's a little bit more times consuming and fiddly than I expected it to be but the effect is amazing. Lots of people have described it as tiger stripes, but it reminds me of tie dye, the way the colours seem to run into each other and blend together

I have to say I love this much, much more than the crackle effect, this actually looks much more expensive and almost as if it's been airbrushed. I can't wait to try the Nails Inc colours that I may be getting from Santa, but in the meantime I'm definitely going to try and track down the blue in the 17 range. What do you think of magnetic nails?

Collective Haulage - All The B's - Boots, and Boohoo

It's funny how things change isn't it, at the start of the month I was struggling a bit financially, and I was ebaying like a demon to pull together some Christmas funds, within a week though of the month starting my bank paid out on a longstanding PPI claim, I have money! I've been a good girl though I've paid off some bills, and I've made a major dent in my Christmas shopping but I have bought myself a few things, so yes this is a haul post! I haven't bought this all at once this haul is over the last couple of weeks, I'm going to do my haul posts like this from now on, saving the goodies till I have a few things to show you. Anyways on with the show :)

First up a Boots haul, as you know all the Christmas gifts are on 3 for 2, can you guess what I bought ? Well this year the amazing London department store and print designer Liberty has produced a range with feline icon Hello Kitty, and guess what it's being sold in Boots! My mum has already bought me a few bits towards my Christmas pressie, but I wanted a few more pieces - first up the Hello Eyes Eye Shadow Compact

The palette contains 8 colour including neutrals, smokes and a splash of colour

I was really surprised by this palette I really wasn't expecting these shadows to be any good, but believe it or not they are! they are so soft and as you can see here they are super pigmented

This is a super sweet palette, but do you know what the sweetest thing is, this a little Hello Kitty design embossed on the mirror :)

I also got the Hello Lips Lip Gloss Collection, this comes in a gorgeous metal tin, which I plan on storing
hair clips in :)

The kit comes with 4 colours Natural, Light Pink, Dark Pink and Plum

Again these are surprisingly really pigmented, there really is a full coverage gloss for all occasions in this kit. They also have a pretty pleasant fruity taste. My one concern with these is the wands, the Liberty print is beautiful but it's only a sticker, so I can imagine they may start to look a little grubby after a while which is a shame :(

So that was two gifts so what did I choose for the free one, well staying with the Hello Kitty and  Liberty collaboration I went for a phone case

This case will be great for most phone types, and it's perfect for keeping my Blackberry safe :)
OK, time to act my age now lol I also bought a few other bits in Boots including another one of the L'Oreal Color Infaillible eye shadows

I really love these eye shadows, and the shade I got was 021 Sahara Treasure, a lovely sandy gold

I also got my hands on the new 17 BB Blemish Balm

I'm a bit obsessed with these at the moment so I thought I'd try this one out, I went for Medium, but to be honest I probably could have gone for either shade and they seemed pretty adaptable

I'm going to do a full review of all the BB Creams I have for you but it will probably be after Christmas now, I have quite a few posts planned between now and when Santa comes :)

Finally I ordered this kimono shrug style top from Boohoo

This one is called the Erin. I really like the style of these I've already another one and I really fancy this one in the cream or the mustard - whoops! Never mind I'm not really intending to wear this at the moment but I think it will be nice in the summer over a vest and some jeans, or even over a black dress.

If you want to see more on this haul please check out this video I made, talking a bit more about the items I bought :)

So, that was my little haul, I have to be honest and say I've got a few other bits on their way, which I'll hopefully show in the next week or so x If you have any questions on anything please let me know xx

Nails Of The Day - Fury Is A Fail

Apologies for all the nail posts at the moment but the light has been so bad its nearly impossible - I promise I'll try and get a few other types of post up this week but in the meantime it's time for another nails of the day post. It's not often that I buy a nail polish that disappoints, thankfully I didn't pay a lot of money for this one but still

The colour in question is Boots 17 -Fury - In the bottle it looks a beautiful gold shot through with green, in fact it has even been compared to Chanel Peridot, on the nails though it just looks plain gold, unless you really wiggle your fingers, and change the lighting , then you get the merest hint of green Not only that but the application wasn't the best either I had to use two coats to try and even out the streaks, but you can still see brush strokes -boo I've taken the pics without the flash so the quality isn't that good, but it is showing the true colour this way x

It's not horrible by any means I was just expecting a bit more from it. What do you think?

A Haul and A Big Thank You xx

I have to say I love you guys - the post I put up early this morning was a bit of a sad outpouring of grief, a bit non sensical but something I just needed to get off my chest. So many of you have left comments, and messaged me on twitter and facebook and I have to say a huge thank you to you all for your good wishes, I feeling a bit better now, we didn't go to the cemetery today the weather is a bit horrid so we are going to go next week, and instead I'm using the defrosted veg from the broken freezer to make a huge batch of curry x

Anyways onwards and upwards, forward not backwards as they say :) so I though I would cheer you and me up by showing you some pics and a video of a little haul I made on Thursday.

Me and my mum had been planning a little trip to the Metro Centre for a few weeks but some how it had never happened, I'd felt poorly, we waiting in for plumbers, the freezer defrosted itself, yeah you get the picture, but on Thursday afternoon we decided to make it happen. We checked out the huge new Primark store, the made over Superdrug, and of course Boots, my mum bought me a few things that shes put away for Christmas and being flat broke I bought nothing bar some Starbucks Mocha Praline Latte's which were on buy one get one free!!!!. My mum was kind enough to get me a few bits, I had a look at the make up in Superdrug and Boots but nothing really rocked my world - am I reaching saturation point again? hmm, anyways everything I picked up in Primark my mum is keeping for Christmas which I don't mind it wasn't anything I desperately needed now, so nail varnish it was - first up two I wanted from Boots`

Yes I got it Revlon Facets of Fuchsia, I heard a few people lately saying that they don't like this, but how could you not, I can't wait to give it a go :) I also got one of the 17 Magnetized Polishes, in Green, It looks like it's more of a teal shade actually, again I can't wait to try this, and I definitely want the blue one too (I may be getting similar colours from Nails Inc so that's why I don't want the rest ;)

We then went to check out the new revamped Superdrug store, I have to say I'm not sure yes the make up and perfume stands look great but it seems as though there shoving the rest of the products out, in the 10 minutes I was in the store I heard 3 people complaining that they could find things or why did they no longer stock something? we'll see I guess. All the cosmetics products were still on 3 for 2 but again their was nothing I wanted, so yup more nail varnish

I got an MUA polish in 24 a lovely dusky lilac, a Beauty UK polish in 54 Gun Metal, as you'd expect a lovely gun metal / pewter shade, and finally a 2True Crystal Nail Polish in Shade 1, a lovely glittery blue. If your interested in 2True check back in a week or so for a full post on the brand in my Budget Beauty Series.

Finally if you buy this months Glamour you can get a full sized Nails Inc nail polish, I can't remember the colours you can chose from at this moment in time but I know the only one I didn't have was Basil Street

A little lighter than Jermyn Street, it one of those perfect mannequin hands nudes, a real go to colour and an absolute bargains at just £2.

If you have any questions please ask, and thanks again for just being lovely xx

A Small Haul - 17, Avon and Neutrogena

Hey my loves - sorry for my absence for the last day or so I really haven't been feeling that up to blogging or doing anything else for that matter. On Friday though Mummy Lou decided that I should go out and get some fresh air. We popped to Asda and then I popped into Boots which to be honest was probably a bit too much for me -I felt awful and really sick and dizzy :( I managed to pay and then get back to the car so it wasn't too embarrassing :( Anyway I picked up a couple of things in Boots including this - The Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Cream Wash

I tried a sample of this when I was on holiday and I have to say I really liked it my skin was left feeling super soft and clean, and the smell was so invegorating, so I thought I'd pick a tube up.

Then came the make up I headed straight to the 17 counter, yes I was looking for the Magnetized polishes but typically my tiny little Boots had none, until I can get to the Metro Centre or Newcastle these babies will have to remain on my wishlist. No matter as a typical beauty junkie I still found something to buy and I got two of the Wild Metallics Cream Eyeshadows

On the left Wild Nude and on the right Wild Green

I've heard good and bad things about these so we'll have to see, the pigmentation is there but they do maybe feel a bit too creamy to be long lasting, still for £3.99 each they were worth a try, especially since I got a free gift the 17 Femme Noir Kit

The kit a Glitter Eyeshadow in Night Sky, a dark grey with sparkle

a Liquid Liner in Black

and an Ultimate Volume Lipgloss in Very Berry

All these items are full sized and the lipgloss is especially pretty especially with my now dark hair :)

That was my Boots haul, but one I got home the girl net door came with my Avon, I was super good and only got one thing this time - a Super Shock Eyeliner

I really like these, I first got one a few years ago and for the price it was really decent, it finally dried out earlier this year, and I really wanted a new one but they were nowhere to be seen. Then in the last catalogue I spotted them again, they are now in slightly metallic shades and the one I got was Blackened Metal which had tiny silver sparkles in it so pretty, and they have such a creamy texture

So that was my baby sized haul using my advantage card points and just £3.99. I will be perhaps heading to Superdrug next week to pick up the rest of my giveaway prize (click here to check it out it ends tomorrow!) but I am really trying to reign in my spending I am so broke it's untrue! If you have any questions or you would like to see reviews on anything I've bought please let me know x

Hospitals and Hauling

Hi Guys
I didn't plan to do a haul post before my holidays but I managed to haul without actually spending any money, more on that later though ;)
Yesterday my mum had a hospital appointment to see her surgeon about her knee replacement, it went pretty much as we expected and she's been given the go ahead to have her operation in January, the only problem is it won't be at any of our local hospitals, it will probably be in Bishop Auckland which is about 20-30 miles away! It's still in the same county but it will take some getting to for visiting, two buses + not good! Never mind as my mums says we'll cross those bridges when we come to them.
After sticking it out in the hospital for a few hours, we then headed off to Tesco's - we only wanted a few bits to last us the weekend but of course Louise had a ulterior motive, this particular stores sells Vivo cosmetics. If you read my review the other day you'll now that I wanted a few more bits, well Mummy Lou kindly got me a few bits using the words if you get it now you won't get it when we're away, hmm anyways I got a few things including two of the Baked Blushers:
Rouge Shimmer

and Peaches and Cream

I also got two of the pearl eyeshadows - Golden Leaf and Pale Gold

one of the lipsticks in Barely There

and one of the baked eyeshadow and blush palettes in Chocolate Box

I haven't got time to review these bits before I go on holiday but I will definitely do some reviews and swatches when I get back. I have to say though my first impressions are good, oh and if you enter my giveaway, I also got some Vivo cosmetics to add to the prize pile so don't forget to check it out x
As well as the hospital and Tescos, I also visited a few Boots stores on the hunt for the 17 Magnetized Nail Polish - can I hell find it? the assistants had no idea what I was talking about - total fail! Never mind I saw the make up was on 3 for 2 so I had a little guilt free splurge, guilt free because I used my advantage card point to pay :) I got 2 nail polishes from the new 17 collection A Woman Scorned - on the left - Revenge, and on the right - Fury

I can't wait to try these out it looks like I'll have to wait till I get back from my hols unless I change my polish everyday for the next 5 days though lol
As it was 3 for 2 I also picked something else up one of the Rimmel lipsticks from the Kate collection

Created by or inspired by Ms Moss, the one I went for was 03 which is the nude in the line.

Did I need another nude lipstick, definitely not did I want it yeah why not especially since I couldn't find anything else I wanted - I really wanted Revlon Facets of Fuchsia nail polish but my little Boots doesn't do Revlon anymore boooo. So that was my Friday, plans for this weekend tidying up a bit, finishing my packing, and posting and scheduling a few blog posts. Hope you all have a nice weekend and I'll try and pop a little review up for you tomorrow x Any questions please leave me a comment x
