Bumble And Bumble Invisible Oil And The Hairdresser's Trio*

My hair goes through phases and at the moment it's going through a rough patch. I don't know whether it because I've been a bit under the weather or  whether it's because I've been constantly changing my routine in attempt to use products up but it's thinning, falling out, difficult to style and it needs some serious TLC. So in attempt to give my hair the love it deserves I stripped my routine back to basics and I've been using a few products from Bumble And Bumble.

For the last month and a bit I've used nothing else on my hair bar top salon brand Bumble And Bumble's, The Hairdresser's Trio

This cute travel or trial size pack contains 3 products from the Bumble And Bumble Bb Hairdressers Invisible Oil range - a 60ml Sulfate Free Shampoo, a 60ml Conditioner, and a 60ml Heat / UV Protective Primer All of the products in the Invisible Oil range contain 6 lightweight, nourishing and moisturising oils, including Grapeseed, Safflower Seed, Sweet Almond, Macadamia, Argan and Coconut oil

Bumble And Bumble Bb Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Sulfate Free Shampoo - 60ml

Designed for coarse, dry and thick hair, this shampoo is infused with moisturising oils and is sulfate free making it ideal if you have sensitive skin or a sensitive scalp. It's designed to soften, tame, de-frizz, detangle and protect the hair.

It has quite a thick texture and it's pearlised white in colour. All of the products in the Invisible Oil range have the same pleasant scent, it's an almost nutty, fruity, coconut aroma that comes from all of the natural oils.

A small amount of shampoo goes a long way, and like most sulfate free shampoos, you just add more water to the shampoo to increase the foam. This shampoo produces a nice creamy lather that rinses away easily, and leaves their hair feeling clean, and nourished.

I really liked this shampoo and on some occasions this was all I used. It left the hair feel moisturised and if you have normal hair this shampoo could be all that you'd need. The full 250ml size of this shampoo retails at £23 which isn't cheap, but in my opinion it's a worthwhile investment. If that's too much to shell at once then the 60ml size that you can see is available for around £7.50.

Bumble And Bumble Bb Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Conditioner - 60ml

If your hair needs a bit of extra attention though then the next step is to use a good conditioner, and the pack that I got also included the corresponding Invisible Oil Conditioner. Especially for dry, coarse and brittle hair, again it contains the 6 featherlight oils, and it's designed  to help soften, silken, tame, de-frizz, detangle and protect the hair.

Packaged in squeezy tube, it's white in appearance and has thick, and creamy consistency, and exactly the same fragrance as the shampoo. Despite it's thickness and density it spreads easily through the hair, and after leaving it for a minute or two it rinses out really easily with warm water. It sounds strange but when it's rinsed out the hair almost feels thicker and plumper. It was also left smooth and silky, with very few knots and tangles.

Again I really liked this product x The texture was lovely and creamy, and it surprised me how easily that it rinsed out and how nice my hair felt afterwards. Although it isn't advertised as being a thickening product my hair definitely felt thicker and fuller when I'd used it but it didn't feel weighed down, lank or heavy. Again this isn't cheap, and a 200ml tube retails at £25 but a little goes a long way, and you can also get the 60ml tube that you can see here for £8.50 if you want to try it or you just feel as though your hair needs a treat.

Bumble And Bumble Bb Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Heat / UV Protective Primer - 60ml

The final product in The Hairdresser's Trio is this fabulous, multi use spray, which again is crammed full of those 6 vital oils. Created to help soften, de-tangle, de-frizz, tame fly aways, ease styling and protect against breakage, heat-styling and UV damage, this is the only spray bar maybe a hair spray or a dry shampoo that you will ever need.

With the same nutty, citrus, coconut scent, in its simplest terms this is a leave in conditioner or heat protection spray that you can either use on damp hair before blow drying or on dry hair before straightening or curling. You can also use during the day to protect your hair from UV damage whether your on holiday or even if your hair is feeling a bit dry and frazzled.

In a pump action bottle, it has a very light almost water like texture but it does seem to make a difference. I've predominantly been using this as a heat protection spray on dry hair before I've used my tongs or my straighteners and I really think it's helped. My ends especially don't feel as frazzled and there definitely seems to be a lot less frizz. I've also been using it as a detangler on damp hair, and again I think that it's given the hair a nice moisture boost and it's got rid of any residual knots and tangles. At a push I think that you could also use this as a refresher and revitaliser on drier hair, and for when your hair needs a moisture boost without weighing it down.

This one isn't cheap either but I've been using my 60ml bottle for over a month now and I've barely put a dent in it. I can't find this 60ml size online anymore but the 250ml bottle retails at around £20.50.

Okay this isn't the cheapest hair care range on the market by any means but what you are getting are good quality products that are used everyday in a salon environment and do what they promise. My hair still isn't great but it's getting there. These are the only products that I've used on my hair over the last month or so and I've definitely seen an improvement in both the condition and the texture. It is a considered purchase but if your hair needs some TLC, after your summer holidays or after illness then the Invisible Oil range could be something to try. Unfortunately I can't find this particular kit online any more but some of the smaller sizes are available directly from the Bumble & Bumble website and from various retailers including Look Fantastic and Escentual, and of course you can take the plunge and buy the full sizes from the likes of Boots and John Lewis. Does your hair need some TLC at the moment? Let me know and we can bemoan our bad hair days together x Thanks for reading x

Sorry I'm Washing My Hair ;)

If you've been reading my little space on the interweb you'll know that I am a bit of a shampoo whore. I have a few that I fall back on but when a new shampoo appears I want to try it!
Up until recently Clynol wasn't a brand I was that familiar with, I'd tried a few things but it was a brand that had pretty much fell under my radar. Over the last couple of years though I've  become a lot more familiar with this top salon brand. I've tried products from the Revive and Repair range, and more recently from the Colour and Shine line, and I have to say I've been pretty impressed with the products, in fact the Colour and Shine products went straight into my top 5 shampoos and conditioners of all time !!!
Brands though are forever innovating and reformulating their products though so these products are no more, instead Clynol have introduced their new all encompassing Care and Style range.
Divided into several section the Care and Style range contains care products, including shampoos, conditioners and treatments to deal with different hair types, and Style products, a range of styling products to help you create the style you want. I was very kindly sent two products from the Colour + Care line. Although I've moved away from the blonde, I still colour my hair so this range is right up my street

Clynol Salon Exclusive Colour & Care Enrich Colour Shampoo

The Colour & Care range comprises of 5 products containing Liquid Jewel extract to nourish and protect your hair, whilst helping to preserve your colour for up to 30 washes.

I was kindly sent a bottle of the enrich shampoo. Packaged in a pearlised effect bottle you get 300ml, which is a really good size for a salon product. The shampoo itself is quite runny, and has a white pealised finish, and a fresh smell.

It took a little to get a good lather, but it rinsed easily and afterwards my hair felt super clean. I didn't notice any extra shine which was a bit of a disappointment and my hair was left a little bit fly away but since my hair is still recovering from my holidays, and lots of extra heat and sun damage I don't think it did too badly, do I like as much and Dazzle and Shine, not quite but it's still a nice shampoo that would definitely have a place in my top 10 :)

Clynol Salon Exclusive Colour & Care Shimmer Bio-Phase Conditioner

I have to say I love spray on / leave in conditioners. probably more than conventional hair conditioners. My hair has a major tendency to tangle and know especially when it's wet. A good leave in conditioner can make a huge difference when it comes to combing my wet hair.

Alongside the shampoo I was also sent a completely new product for Clynol, the Bio-Phase Conditioner. Packaged in a 250ml pump action spray bottle, this product has a very liquidy almost watery texture, and it has a sweet almost vanilla musk fragrance.

I sprayed the product into towel dried hair and then I styled it like I normally would. I have to say the Clynol shampoo left my hair remarkably smooth and not that tangled, but a few squirts of the conditioner definitely made a bit smoother. From the name I was expecting it to have some sort of shimmer in it, but I couldn't see anything on my hair even when it was dry, nor did I notice any additional shine :(. I think this is a pretty decent leave in spray, but I think I maybe need something with a little bit more moisture.

If the Colour & Care line isn't for you there are plenty more products in the Care and Style range that maybe better for you including products for fine, thinning hair, dry damaged hair and much more.
These products are available to buy from Beauty Bay, and Feel Unique, or for your local stockists / Clynol salon please check out the Clynol website. The Clynol Salon Exclusive Colour & Care Enrich Colour Shampoo retails at around £8.90 for 300ml and the Clynol Salon Exclusive Colour & Care Shimmer Bio-Phase Conditioner retails at around £9.90 for 250ml. Lovea Bio Hair Care - Two Reviews For My Pure

Well it's that time again, time for my monthly reviews for My Pure - for January I selected a few hair care products. Whether we like it or not our hair suffers as the seasons change, cold wintry weather can be just as damaging as hot summer sun. Added to that a spell in hospital when I was unable to wash my hair for a week and you can imagine the poorly state of my hair. The products that I had already chosen for January came from the French brand Lovea Bio. I've discovered this brand purely through my relationship with My Pure and I have to say like A'kin I've generally been impressed by the products I've tried. Certified organic and free from Parabens, the two products I chose were the Lovea Bio Tahitian Monoi Moisturising Shampoo and the Lovea Bio L'Argan Detangling Leave in Conditioner Spray.

Lovea Bio Tahitian Monoi Moisturising Shampoo

This is the second shampoo I've reviewed by Lovea, I'd previously tried out the Lovea Bio L'Argan Shine Shampoo, which I liked but this time I wanted something a bit more moisturising.

Containing genuine Tahitian Monoi oil, which is Tiare flowers, soaked in pure coconut oil, and vegetable glycerin, this shampoo is designed, to moisturise and add shine to the hair

It has a slightly cloudy appearance, and quite a runny texture as you can see. Because of the texture I think you tend to use slightly more than you would normally but the shampoo produces a fine creamy lather, which cleanses well and rinses easily without tangling.

What sells this shampoo to me though is the smell, exactly like the Lovea Body Milk I previously reviewed, it has the most gorgeous, sensual fragrance of tropical flowers and a tiny bit of coconut, amazing! Once dried my hair was left feeling soft and fairly sleek even without the use of a conditioner (a matching conditioner is available though).
I have to say I loved this shampoo, it's gentle enough to be used every day, the hair was left soft, and none greasy and smelling amazing - a big thumbs up for me - it's definitely something I would consider repurchasing:) Lovea Bio Le Monoi Moisturizing Shampoo retails at £4.99 for 200ml from My Pure making it very affordable too :)

Lovea Bio L'Argan Shining Non Rinse Conditioner

I have to say I am a huge fan of leave in conditioner sprays - even since a disastrous experimentation with Sun In, in my late teens, when it was the only way to get a comb though my hair, I have always had at least one on the go. I've found brilliant ones at both the high end and low end of the spectrum, the key thing I look for is to add moisture without adding grease. I was interested to try Lovea's version of a leave in conditioner spray primarily because it contains the famous Moroccan oil, Argan.

This hugely prized oil which crops up in a lot of Lovea's products is well known for it's moisturising and regenerative properties - a prefect inclusion in a hair conditioner. The leave in spray comes in a pump action bottle, with a fine spray. It looks yellow in the bottle but it looks quite clear when its sprayed. It has the same citrus, nutty smell as Lovea's other products containing Argan oil, it's quite pleasant but I can see how some people could find it a bit overpowering. I used the product in two ways on damp hair after shampooing, and on dry hair as a detangler / refresher. I found that my hair was a lot easier to comb and that it felt a lot softer and less tangled. On dry hair I found that it freshened the hair and added shine whilst getting rid of any tangles without leaving the hair greasy or oily. I have to say again though the fragrance does have a tendency to linger on the hair, so whilst this would be good for getting rid of cooking smells etc it does last so it may interfere with fragrance and so on.

I have to say I did like this product, my biggest fear was that it would be oily but it certainly wasn't, it provided just enough moisture and slip to the hair. Having said that I'm not sure I would repurchase as I've already found my hold grail leave in sprays which unfortunately I still prefer to this but if you want a good, organic leave in conditioner this may be the one for you. Lovea Bio L'Argan Shining Non Rinse Conditioner retails at £5.49 for 125ml from My Pure
