A Late August 2018 Primark Haul - Clothes, Accessories And Beauty

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I honestly don't know where this year has gone, it seems to have flown by so fast that I don't seem to have been able to do anything, go anywhere or achieve anything. Please tell me I'm not alone in feeling this way or is this just middle age and life catching up with me? - who knows! Like most things this year Primark trips have been pretty thin on the ground, my last visit was in May so a little shopping trip was well overdue! It's always the way though isn't it, you don't go somewhere for ages and then you end up going three times in 4 weeks! a bit like buses I guess, but you what that means, it means that I have a couple of Primark hauls coming up for you in the next week or so, first up the goodies I picked up on two trips in August x

Last time I was in Primark way back in May, it was all about summer style, with shorts, vest tops , bikinis and sandals as far as the eye could see, this time round though the sale rails were clinging on to summer whilst the rest of the store, was bedecked in Autumn and Winter colours and styles.

Something that seems to be back big style for A/W 2018 is checks and tartan, I love a checked shirt on a guy but I'm also partial to a little bit of plaid in my own wardrobe. I've always loved tartan and checks for as long as I can remember; I remember having a couple of dresses in tartan as both a child and an adult, and I remember owning the most fabulous bright blue tartan mini skirt from C&A, it probably wouldn't fit me know but I wish I'd held on to it.

This top is probably a little bit more practical than my long lost skirt, and at just £5 it was a must have. It's basically a fine knit type fabric tunic, it has a slightly boxy bat wing shape, and a visible back zip.

Primark have apparently improved their sizing on a lot of their items, and this was one of a few items that I saw that was available in a 2XL, which they claim should fit a 22-24. Still not trusting Primark's sizing and always going for the largest size, this was the size that I went for, but to be honest I should have gone a size down because on me it's pretty roomy. Despite the fact that it's pretty lightweight it's still pretty cosy but since I do have a bit of extra room in it, and because it has 3/4 sleeves, I could wear it on top of either a long sleeved t-shirt or a black polo or roll neck for a bit of extra warmth on those colder days.

Although the store was full of Autumn and Winter bits, there were still a few basics and things that I think you could wear all year round. I love florals,  be it ditsy, gaudy, or even vintage, if there is a flower on something that you can pretty much guarantee that I'll like it. I'm also a huge fan or shirts and blouses so team either of those with a floral print, and I'll be there in a flash.

I couldn't resist this long line tie detail shirt, in a slightly sheer chiffon / gauze fabric, this off white shirt features a vintage style blush floral rose pattern. It only buttons half way down leaving you free to wear it loose or to knot it at the front.

It was only £12 and I loved it so much that I went back and picked up the same shirt but in a different colour and print. This one is in a beautiful deep teal, with a slightly different but equally big and blousey vintage floral print in shades of blue, blue, and beige.

Again it was only £12 and again you can wear it in several different ways. Being so sheer I probably will need to wear a vest or a t-shirt underneath but you could wear it unbuttoned as a kind of a jacket, tied, or even loose with the buttons fastened, giving it an almost slit detail look.

There seems to be a lot of this teal / petrol shade around at the moment and I also ended up buying one of my favourite long line t-shirts in this fab deep petrol shade.

I've talked about these Primark t-shirts on many occasions now and they are a real staple for me, this one was just £3.50 and again it's perfect on it's own and perfect for layering as the weather gets colder. I'm also a huge fan of their long sleeved t-shirts so I picked up this navy blue and red stripe crew neck t-shirt shirt for £4.00.

Although the long sleeved t-shirts aren't marked as being long line, on me the length is pretty decent, and because of the elastane content they skim my curves and they don't tend to ride up. If you want a bit more length though you could maybe size up a bit but I'm both long in the body and curvy and they're fine on me.

Apart for a pair of leggings, and a pair of my Primark wardrobe staple indigo jeggings, that was it for clothing, but I did go slightly mad in the hair accessories, does anyone really need 45 different hair bobbles, well I do! I honestly don't know where they go! Like so many things Primark have been playing around with their sizing on their hair bobbles, and I picked up a pack of their snag less 30 Standard Hair Elastics which were £1.50. I haven't tried these yet but on reflection I should have gone for the ones for thicker hair we'll see though and I'll know either way for next time. I also got a pack of 12 of the rubber / plastic Spiral Hair Ties in various shades of brown for just £1. Again I love the fact that these don't catch, snag or damage the hair, they also hold their shape pretty well, just keep them away from four legged felines if you want them to last though ;)

Now, as someone who grew up in the 80's and 90's I have many stories about the humble hair scrunchie, be it my scrunchie collection and when it became a bit of a competition as to how many you could wear in your hair at once! I'm not entirely sure that I want to go back there but scrunchies are immensely practical especially if like me, you tie your hair back for bed. They're soft, they don't catch the hair, and you can't feel them digging into your scalp! I have a few floating round that I still use but since they seem to be on trend again I thought I'd stock up with this pack of 3 black scrunchies which just a £1. I'm not sure I'll wear them out of the house, I think I'm over that but I'll definitely wear them for bed.

Next up beauty, and despite seeing a few things online that I liked the look of when I got into store I didn't desperately need or want anything, so I just ended up buying some face wipes and a lipstick.

Okay I didn't need a lipstick but for just 90p and since Primarks beauty range is now cruelty free, it would have been wrong not to have popped this PS Lustre Lipstick in Skin On Skin into my basket

In almost self coloured MAC esq packaging, the lipstick is in a lovely pink / nude colour, it has a coconut taste and scent, and feels very moisturising on the lips. The pigmentation is excellent and it has a nice sheen to it - overall well worth 90p and maybe even more!

Now I also mentioned that I picked up some face wipes, I have used Primark's tea tree face wipes for what seems like forever, I've gone through so many packets that I've lost count. I use them for all sorts of things and when I don't have them I panic! Since I hadn't been to Primark for around 3 months understandably I'd ran out and I thought if I just picked up some generic tea tree based face wipes from B&M that they would be the same, believe me they weren't and they made me realise just how good the Primark ones were, you can therefore imagine my horror when I couldn't find the ones that I usually buy - instead all I could find were these.

They were the same price and you got the same amount of wipes, and the ingredients looked similar so I hoped upon hope, that it was just a name and packaging change, and thankfully that's exactly what seems to have happened, they look, smell and feel exactly the same as they always use to - Phew!!! breathes a huge sigh of relief!

The eagle eyed and loyal LouLouLand and LouLou699 followers amongst may have already seen this but last week I posted a little video to accompany this blog post, you can find out a little bit more about the items that I've showed you here (bar one of the t-shirts that I forget to film eek) and hear more about a couple of things that I haven't talked about in this post. You can watch it below or via this link.

As I say I've got another Primark haul coming for you in the next week or so but in the meantime if you're a fan of hauls don't forget to follow me on Instagram (I'm @LouLou699 ) I've recently posted a TK Maxx haul on my stories featuring a few Illamasqua bits. If you've missed seeing that in my storeies though you can always check out my Instahaul highlights tab to see all of the purchases that I've shared on my stories over the last few months x I love reading and watching other peoples haul post so don't forget to link me up in the comments and of course please let me know if you have any questions on anything that I've bought x

A Very Late September 2016 Primark Haul

I Breaking News - Louise starts a blog post with another apology lol! Today's post is super late and I'm sorry! October ends next week and here I am posting a collective Primark haul from September - me bad! Never mind I've got a lot to show you so I'll quit apologising and get started.

As I've said on numerous occasions I love autumn and winter when it comes to fashion I love layering and wrapping up warm, and I do love a nice piece of cosy knitwear, so it's probably no surprise that I'm starting this haul with a lovely fluffy jumper.

You really can't beat Primark for good value cosy knitwear pieces and this one very much defies the £12 price tag. Primark have sold similar sweaters for the past few years now and have a bottle green one with different coloured and sized crystals, and I also have one in an aqua shade with slightly larger crystals around the neckline.

Made of a super soft feeling yarn, this one is in a beautiful blush pink colour, but what takes it to another level, is the beautiful, heat sealed crystal detailing on the neckline. It almost looks like you're wearing a necklace. Long gone are the days when you could only wear sparkles or glitter for a special occasion or a night out, I fully intend to wear this jumper during the day, to add a bit of sparkle to those dull autumn and winter days.

The next couple of clothing pieces that I picked up aren't out and out autumn and winter pieces by any means, in fact for me they're probably more like spring and summer pieces. That said depending on the occasion and who you style, I think that you can wear pretty much anything at any time of year.

This piece in particular has a very spring, summer feel, probably down to the bright floral print but I do think that it's a piece that I can make work in the colder months.

It's basically a  heavier chiffon feel, black patterned, sleeveless long line blouse, but it has splits up the sides and the buttons only go to half way down the blouse which gives a sort of long shirt tail look,

In the summer I can imagine this been worn either buttoned or loose over a pair of denim shorts but in the colder months I think I'm probably going to be wearing this open as more of an jacket or a waistcoat over long sleeved t-shirts, thin polo necks and jeans. It was £10.

The item that I got is another piece that will take my from season to season, it's basically a very smart, boxy, colour block top. With blocks of ivory, and navy, and black trims it has a very trendy, exposed zip at the back. The fabrics vary depending on the colour and it is a tiny bit sheer so I will probably need to wear a camisole or a vest underneath. This top was also £10.

Next up nightwear - admittedly I spend a lot of time in bed but I don't think that even that explains my total obsession with nightshirts and pj's. I am literally running out of space in my nightwear draws and still I buy more. Who could resist this pretty, snuggly brushed cotton feel nightshirt though!

I know that there are a lot of Disney fans out there and Primark at the moment have a lot of Disney pieces in all of their different departments. This lovely candy pink striped number is in the traditional nightshirt style and features Minnie Mouse appliques on each side. It was also £10 which is great value for a piece that will keep you warm and snuggly all winter.

Now this piece could be worn either as an everyday t-shirt or as a sleep tee. I found it in the nightwear and lingerie department, and since I love everything to do with New York for just £4.50 I had to have it.

It's basically just a long line khaki t-shirt, but it features an outline of the New York skyline, in a rose gold tone foil. I did initially buy it as a sleep t but I definitely think I will be wearing it as a t-shirt instead.

Next up feet and footwear! My feet are strange, because I have thyroid problems they get quite dry, and I also have a few circulation issues that means that they're either burning hot or stiff and icy cold I can't win, and whilst I love walking around the house in bare feet, I know that I need to keep my feet warm, and what better way to do it than by wearing a pair of these.

How cute are these? These super cute Hedgehog Cosy Footlets are made of a lovely soft and cosy fabric, and they also have non slip pads on the sole so unlike just plain socks you can walk around the house and even on wooden floor without slipping. These were just £3.50 and they have lots of different animals and characters to choose from.

From something a bit silly to something stylish but very, very practical, winter boots! Living up north like I do and in a semi rural area, a good pair of boots are a real essential for the autumn and winter months

Whilst these ones are super practical they also have a stylish edge, the chunky heel, and the buckle detailing gives these boots more of a fashion look, but for ease and practicality they have a side zip fastening. Okay they aren't leather but for just £15 i think that these boots are a solid investment and I've already worn quite a few times already with trousers, skinny jeans and even with tights and a dress.

Whilst i don't think I'm quick ready to wear this next item yet, I do love a winter hit, I bought something very similar for ebay last year in a navy, but since quite a few of my coats are black I thought I'd get myself a nice black, rib knit hat, with a huge faux fur pompom on it, we as you do. This cosy hat was only £2 and it comes in several other colours.

That was it for clothes and accessories but I did pick up a few jewellery pieces including this long line gold tone, tassel detail necklace which was £2.

and this silver tone long line, pendant cluster necklace, which was £2.50. I already a very similar necklace from Primark in a gold tone, which I've worn an awful lot so there was no way that I was leaving this one behind.

Since this blog is? / was predominantly a beauty blog, I always have a little look at the beauty selection in any shop that i going into and Primark is no exception. I went into both the Newcastle and the Intu Metrocentre store last month so I managed to have a proper look at all of the new additions. There were a couple of things make up wise that I might pick up in the future but this time round I picked up a few nails bits and a few essentials.

I eventually managed to get my hands on a couple of bottle of the PS Cuticle Oil. I talked about this stuff in a recent favourites video and I absolutely love it but I was having trouble finding. Thankfully both stores had it so I decided to stock up. OPI Avoplex is my true love but I'm still going to keep dabbling with this one. At just £1 a bottle the brush is good, and it actually sinks into your nails and cuticles rather than just sitting on the surface. Love, love, love it and it's definitely something that i will keep buying.

Something else that was a repurchase is the PS Nail Polish Twist Pot which is also £1. I was never a big lover of this type of remover but at last I get it. I don't normally use these to remove a full manicure instead I use them for when I make mistakes or for when I just need to touch up one nail.

A little while ago now I posted a nails of the day featuring a nameless PS Gel Effect Nail Polish in a sort of periwinkle, forget me not, blue, lilac shade. Despite the fact that I bemoaned the lack of identifying name or number, I love the colour and the formulation, so much so in fact, that i decided to pick up another shade.

Yet again this is one of the nameless ones, but this time it's in a sort of jade, mint green colour. I went through a phase where I was obsessed with mint greens, turquoise and Tiffany blue like shades, and with the purchase of this shade and the launch of the OPI Breakfast At Tiffany's collection, I can feel that obsession returning.

Something else that I'm obsessed with is of course the PS Love Your Skin Oil Balancing Cleansing Wipes. I've lost count of how many packets of these that I've bought but I have a lot of swatch photographs to take in the next week or so, so I thought I would stock up. They are just £1 for two packs of 25 wipes.

The final beauty item that i picked up was another one of the rose gold tone make up brushes. This is the PS Double Ended Angled Brow Brush which was just £1.

This is definitely the year when I got the whole concept of the eyebrow and thanks to regular waxing and good products, I'm finally starting to see a proper brow shape forming. Over the last few months I've been experimenting with a lot of brow products, and as good as some of the tiny brushes that come with products are, nothing beats a full sized brush.

I've loved every single brush that I've bought from this range and this one is another win. It's double ended and it comes with an angled brush head to apply waxes, pomades and powders, and at the other end you have a spoolie brush. You could also at a push use the slanted end for cream and gel liners. This brush is a bargain and well worth picking up.

Finally home wear and more specifically candles. Yes, if you didn't get see enough candles in my last haul post, I've got a few more for you now. First up another pineapple candle, I have a few of these from both Primark, and H&M now, but I particularly love these small scented Primark ones.

This one is in a lovely dusky, lilac mauve ceramic and it contains and beautiful, delicately scented Rose and Lychee candle. It was £3.50

Finally i picked up this beautiful set of ornate glass, tea light holders, which was also £3.50.

I think that this set would make a great gift for anyone that likes pretty things, with a slightly vintage look. They are nicely packaged and each one of the holders comes with an unscented tea light, I've swapped them for some of my Yankee ones but they would also look really pretty with a flame less, battery operated tea light inside.

Well as well as late, this haul was also pretty epic, so well done if you've all of this post. You can watch the accompanying video via this link or below x

If you have any questions on anything in this haul please let me know x Thanks for reading and I will see you soon with a review post xx

Primark Haul - April 2016 Edition - A Little Bit Of Everything

Hi Guys x I hope you've had a lovely week so far, in between computer problems and vet visits on Monday I managed a little trip to the Metro Centre x I didn't buy an awful lot but I did pick up a few odds and ends from Primark.

Apart from a couple of bits of underwear I only bought one clothing item. As I said in a previous post I'm not really planning on buying a lot of summer clothes this year, instead I'm trying to just buy odds and ends that I can wear no matter what the season.

That said though this ivory, sleeveless blouse that I picked up would be perfect for a warm, summer day. It's a touch sheer so I would probably wear a toning vest with it but I think it cute and it will look nice with leggings or skinny jeans. I picked up this blouse from a sale rack it was reduced from £8 to just £3 - bargain!

So that was it for clothing - I tried a few pairs of shoes on but even the size 7's were huge (I normally take an 8) so I gave up and headed to the jewellery section.

The first thing that I got was this stunning statement necklace. With a bronze tone base it's covered in purple, grey and blue faux crystals, shiny grey beads and faux turquoise triangles. I am a huge fan of statement necklaces and this one was only £3, it had been reduced from £8 but I swear if you went to another store, you'd pay a lot, lot more for it.

From a chunky, statement necklace to a necklace that's altogether smaller and more delicate.

Last time I was in Primark I bought the Disney Mickey head bracelet (read my post here) I initially thought it was a necklace,so at the first opportunity I had I went back and bought the necklace.

It's very similar to the bracelet, and on the same, fine gold tone chain but this time instead of being embossed with crystals the Mickey head is plain. I think this super cute and a must for any Disney fan. It was just £3 x

So that was it for jewellery, next up beauty. I know I moaned about the state of the beauty section last time but this time it was perfect, the odd thing had still been opened but at least it was clean and I managed to get what I wanted last time.

I'm a huge lover of pencil style lip products and after seeing it in the flesh, the PS Velvet Matte Lipstick Crayon in Nude went straight to the top of my wishlist and thankfully this time I managed to find one that hadn't been opened.

Apologies for the change in background colour but I really wanted to show the colour off as accurately as I could. It's not an out and out, beige, blank your lips out nude, it's probably more of a pink, coral nude. It's not that moisturising but at the same time it doesn't feel as though it's drying your lips out. The coverage is good, and being a matte it wears well, all and all not bad for £2. Thanks to the dull and miserable weather up north today I haven't managed a swatch photograph instead you've got a picture of me wearing it and showing you my best duck face, and I'm also wearing it in the video that you can see at the end of this post x

The next thing that I bought was a set of the PS Volume Full Look False Lashes. Those of you that know me well, probably know that I'm not really a false last wearer, however a lovely brand recently sent me a few sets of their lashes to try out. For that reason I've decided to have a little bit of a practise with some cheaper lashes before I try them out and review them. All of the sets in Primark are just a £1 but I particularly loved these big full ones.

The final two thing that I bought came from the home section. As I've said before the home section in the Primark Intu Metro Centre store doesn't have the largest home wear selection but they still had some nice things. I didn't desperately need anything though so I just got a stationery item and some fairy lights.

Seriously I could probably light my room up with just fairy lights as it is, but I could resist buying these wire lights when I spotted them next to the tills. It's just basically a strand of very on trend rose gold / copper wire with 20 tiny little butterfly lights on it. I have no idea where I'm going to put them yet but at just £2.50 I couldn't leave them behind.

My final buy was something a little bit silly but I love stationery and you can always find a use for a sticky note :) I love Grumpy Cat or Tardar Sauce to give her proper name, I love her so much and I just want to give her a huge cuddle. Alas that will never happen but I can feel closer to her and her less than cheerful expressions with these cute sticky notes. You get three different designs in the pack and whilst they weren't particularly cheap at £2, they were a must have.

If you want to find out more about some of the things that I bought and listen to me ramble for a bit they have a little watch of my latest You Tube video that you can find below or via this link x

If you haven't already subscribed to my You Tube channel I'd love if you did x I'm posting a lot more regularly than I used and I'm posting a lot of content that you won't find on my blog so please click this link to find out more x

So I hope you enjoyed this haul, if you did don't forget to follow my blog so you'll never miss any of my posts x Thanks for reading and hopefully watching and if you've bought anything nice from Primark recently, leave me a comment and tell me all about it xx
